Wow, it looks like engine and spoiler stickers really are printed on opaque white! And yeah, the red on the rear of Sunstreaker looks as out of place as I suspected.

Thankfully, Spinout himself still looks amazing! Definitely gonna be using the stomach and inner calf stickers. Maybe, maybe a small Autobot logo on the hood, but I feel the white outline is little too thick.

I agree about the red stickers on Streaker’s backside, but those red shoulder stickers, GIMMiE!

Stickers look good, I might put them on my G2 Sideswipe for the extra red. Unless the car shapes are off lol.

Cool stuff. So now we are given a build your own MP39+ toy edition by using Spinouts stickers/head etc on the OG.

Is this mold fully utilized now or are there other Diaclone repaints ?

I guess I’m saddened that a toy Sunstreaker won’t happen. They essentially gave us a build kit for what we wanted by cannibalizing two purchase. I’m cool with that, but I’m too weird to mix and match these.

I do it all the time with my Diaclone figures. Wonder what’s stopping me here?? The stickers maybe?

We should be good. Now if only we had Deepcover, we could close the book on the Sideswipe mold.

Eventually, Takaratomy might just cave in and actually release an official MP Deepcover. Sigh. Hopefully...

Surely it's not just a case pf parts swapping? The grey on Sunstreaker won't match the black on Spinout and some grey parts also feature yellow paint (like the shoulders).

Come on Takara - just give us a yellow Spinout!

Its a shame but maybe a nice fan service to give the more hardcore guys what they need if they had no plans for the toy version. I really want to see someone do the conversion!

Waste of time, throw the MP 12 mold in the recycle bin and give us a V2, wayyy too outdated a mold now for such a minor character.

I somehow think this is what stopped Broadcast coming out following the Steeljaw mold, they probably realised the whole aesthetic was going to be different. I feel they just wanted to recoup some wasted R&D funds before going back to the drawing board. Probably for the best as a Broadcast will always be second fiddle to Soundwave and should match his v2 closely.

Fuck that. I don’t want them to start all over again. I just want Deepcover from this mold to finish out the repaints of it. We’ve already got Swipe, Alert, Tigertrack, and Clampdown... only character left is Deepcover. Hell we even got G2 Sideswipe. After Deepcover, they can make a new mold.

Hey what's up with that Sunstreaker bot mode transformation? Does one just have the chest piece pushed down further than the other?

Is one more correct than the other?

Does anyone know if Soundwavescat ever posted the review for Spinout? They are apparently working on the Arcee review now so the Spinout review must be done. @griffin-of-oz do you have a link? Thank you!

I don't think there were any plans of a video review, just photos. There's a few more photos in group shots on Soundwavescat's instagram.

I didn't expect a video review, just a good old fashioned text review. All I really want to know is how loose or tight the joints are compared to the previous two releases of the mould. I did see the pics on his Instagram so I guess that's it. For Arcee all I want is some mid-transformation shots but I don't expect to see that.

On a related note I'm liking how Hasbro appears to be embracing the marketing angle of getting figures into fans hands early for photos etc. The SS86 figures being sent out to YouTube reviewers is great and I hope that continues. What would be even more awesome would be to get Wotafa some MPs really early. Send that man an MP Arcee already! :)

Such a fantastic figure. Cordon is my favorite of this mold, hands-down.

That is a nice way to combat the shenanigans of a few certain early reviewers. Hopefully we see more of these officially sanctioned early reviews. :)

Even as a kid, I didn't put the red stickers on my Sunstreaker because it was obvious that there was a printing mistake. I instead cut yellow ones from some other larger yellow label (our creative options were limited in 1984) in order to cover the black plastic and clean up the alt mode colors. I'd love to see a proper toy version of MP Sunstreaker, given that all of the requisite parts are available, but I do NOT want red shoulders/fenders. Why imitate a detail that was the result of an unintentional error?
