They are no different to Fanstoys. These two brands now lead the way in MP style figures and teasing us relentlessly with renders that are years away!

 

X-Transbots were always my pick to take them on.

 

Oh damn those look super cool. Shame that Downshift doesn’t have a cool original deco. I’d have hoped there was some sort of blue colouring for him.

 

These look great and I'm down for all 3 Omnibots! Ironically after wanting the g1 toys since ~1984 I finally managed to get Overdrive and Camshaft just last year at TFCon. (As a kid I used up all my robot points and $$$ to get Reflector and the no-longer-available-in-stores Megatron as mail-aways). I couldn't find a Downshift in good condition at the convention...was hoping to get him this year but obviously that didn't happen...



(I got the reprolabels to fix up their stickers but never got around to applying them. Camshaft's chest sticker in particular must be replaced!)

 

Nice! I drooled over the form as a kid (especially Camshaft) but never got any of them. Getting Omnibots now is a childhood dream come true!

 

I like this Overdrive.

Pretty much the only thing i found interesting from TFCon reveal, other than PX Grimlock.

 

Yeah, I was always surprised they changed 2 of the 3, and that with so many recolors they never released the alternates...in the early internet days when we really only knew some of what was out there these were totally my grail pieces. I looked for them like crazy before resigning to the fact that they seem to only exist as pre production prototypes.

 

You know, the S2000 doors would double back on themselves to come up past the fender. It wouldn't take much to slip a couple of cannons into the panels to give him a weapons deployed mode.

 

Indeed, "mail-away" used to some realm six to ten weeks beyond the horizon as opposed to an overnight swipe on the phone.

 

Well people up thread were trying to figure out an additional two for a combiner...

 

If they were to make that effort, I would rather they just go ahead, jump the marginal gap and make a Puzzler.

No, because for all of the pissing and moaning about redoing G1 over and over and over, that's what seems to sell when money is on the line. We might get two or three more Machine Robos out of Action Toys, if we're lucky, and that's it.

Edit: now there's a crazy thought. Xtb remold their version camshaft into tracks & all the repaints to beat takara.
