I think the people poking fun at those of us who actually have some knowledge of our ships are just being ignorant.

Oh well... This is what I get for being an intellectual that loves to talk about certain subjects.  

also, make no mistake. I never said I hated the toy. I do dislike like many others have also stated, that it's Jetfire.

Oh we aren’t trying to insult people with knowledge of whatever they like. Well atleast me. I was generalizing the types of people on this post.

 

Few things people have mentioned about this figure. Yes there is an airships looking catapult (port-starboard) reminiscent of the NAZI battleship Bismarck. However that Bismarck didn't have 2 stacks. But there were other ships NOT of Germany too.
The HMS King George V for example also had a midships catapult from port to starboard. And also had 2 stacks. Problem here is that it also was a WW2 era ship. She also didn't have that prowl and the stern was way different.
Also the Renown Class Battlecruiser from early WW2 also fits this look a bit. But not fully (and again HAD a midships catapult)
The Italians and Japs favored double or more stacks on their battleships in WW1 but that's where their similarities seemed to end so I won't mention them. I believe the US Battleships would have been similar to USS Arizona, New York, and Texas. But don't fit the bill here as they had Stern catapults and single stacks.
Can't find anything on French or Russian Battleships. Even on the Naval History site I like to view. And they encompass sail to modern via sections and use US declassified documents to illustrate a lot of things.

 

Dunno how I missed this post. Lol. But yeah. Before bad name for it. However to fit the bill (robot mode) AND be able to combine with Prime. He'd have to be called Jetfire. Maybe this version never became the Blackbird jet? And when the Bayverse characters change forms (exception Megatron-Galvatron because that was a rename via human intervention) they retained their original name. No matter what alt form they took.

And to explain the combined form as a battleship (massive thing) can't combine with a truck (still big, but not massive), come on. We are Transformers fans. Surely you remember Mass-Shifting? G1 Megatron goes from Robot equal to if not bigger than Starscream to alt mode gun able to be held by same Starscream to be fired.
So either Prime Mass-Shifts bigger or Jetfire Mass-Shifts smaller here. (The main guns alone would individually encompass Prime if left to scale.)

 

I don't collect BayFormers but they always look incredible. Seeing as how most people probably pass right by a vast majority of unveils without buying, I really don't get why anyone would make a specific point to try to campaign AGAINST something.

As for people saying how sTuPiD iT iS tHaT uH pLaNe TeRnS iNtO uH bAtTlEsHiP because it's not 'realistic', I think even using that word about sentient robots that turn into cars is stupid in and of itself.

They couldn't have at least done an aircraft carrier? I mean, it looks kinda cool, but it's JETfire....wut?
