Hmmm. It's nice n' all. But when I don't have the original and would like to see an affordable reissue, the overriding question is 'clearly' gonna be ... what's the point? :inquisiti

Clear plastic is notoriously more brittle and fragile than opaque plastic, right? Combined with the high entry price and the "We won't support this" notice from FansToys, this is a pretty definite "Pass" for me.

(I also have mixed feelings on the aesthetics of figures made entirely from clear plastic, anyway)

so i'm still debating, after reading the thread, if they don't get the deposits for the pre-order will that motivate them to drop the price?

People are purchasing Thomas at $350-400+ I don't think it's the price.

I think it's the fact that it is transparent. Making an investment that high, people don't want it to crumble in their hands.

I love this mold, top 3 for me, thank god I am not into clear versions. What are the repaints possibilities for this character? Robotech/macross maybe?

I like the frosted look, in the cartoon he was frozen in ice after all!

But not the actual clear parts. Not for me.

Main thing that's always been tough for me about Translucent toys is that unless there is a canon reason they are clear like say Starscream's Ghost or say, Mirage being invisible, or Prime's Trailer, you know? stuff like that.

I just can't get into clear translucent stuff. I won't lie it does look cool if that's all you like to collect than sure it can look beautiful on a shelf, so long as you never ever play with it.

Would be kinda funny if they decided to make all the titan figures (Base Formers and Combiners) fully Translucent.

I liked the special edition Sphinx (Mirage) where he was half translucent. I thought that was a justified purpose for a clear plastic version of the figure.

Otherwise, I've never had any use for a clear version of anything. I pulled the trigger on this guy because I already have every other Fans Toys figure. I have to admit though... the clear plastic is growing on me. He looks good in the shared pictures.

Also, I learned that they produced 1000 of these figures. That's the same number of each of the "X" Dibots, and less than the number of FT-10X figures produced.
