I totally agree the head doesn’t suit him at all, however I do like the Siege version of him (even though it’s technically a Siege Smokescreen repaint!)

You can swap the heads on the ER & Siege Prowl figures, so I’m going to do the same & put the Siege Barricade head on this Earthrise version. This way all 4 Datsun guys will have unique heads!

I also have some 3rd party upgrade kits with shoulder missiles that are different from stock, if all 4 get different ones then I think along with the different heads you’d get them all looking quite diverse.

 

What was P/CP's color scheme in the Rebirth episodes?

Meh, Earth Mode Barricade is cool and all, but Punch-Counterpunch? Why?

Anyways. If the Final Galactic Odyssey set is Tap-Out And Glyph, that makes me wish even more for Gears to get a G1 Cartoon toy. Seriously, Gears feels like the Odd Bot Out of the Autobot Mini-Vehicles in the Generations Toyline. Cliffjumper and Bumblebee both have new G1 Cartoon molds in Earthrise and the Netflix WFC Toyline respectively (with a turnabout from the norm where Cliffjumper was remolded into Bumblebee. Shocking). Warpath is totally G1 for his Kingdom Toy. Huffer and Pipes are both Rumored for Kingdom, a rumor that seems to be confirmed with the Kingdom Poster. Brawn is at least G1-ish with his Legends Class figure in Titans Return. Windcharger in Power of the Primes. Beachcomber in Power of the Primes. Cosmos in Titans Return. Powerglide in Combiner Wars. Seaspray in Titans Return. Hubcap was a Generations Selects Earthrise Cliffjumper Minor remold. Outback in Power of the Primes from Titans Return Brawn. Swerve was the Original Mold for Generations Gears and was more accurate than the remold that was Thrilling 30s Gears. Power of the Primes Tailgate from Windcharger. Seriously, most of the toys for these characters could at least somewhat be declared "G1 Cartoon Accurate". And then there are Gears and Wheelie. Wheelie's toy was kind of accurate, but not Gears.

I guess if they want to, they can release Gears with Rook. That would be cool.

 

I appreciate that Hasbro is creating a side story here, but I haven't had any interest in buying any of these until now. Luckily, I had already cancelled almost all of my SS86 pre-orders, so I already had my toy budget ready for the deluge of new toys coming in the first third of 2021.

 

So I know Counterpunch in the Japanese headmaster series had a silver face, is that what this recolor is supposed to be referencing. Does anyone remember if his car mode had a yellow stripe? Was hoping the Punch head would have been remolded to look like the rebirth model

There are a couple of customizers in the Radicons forum who've had great success dyeing the plastic instead of painting. I know it doesn't make up for this P/CP's colors being too bright right out of the box, but dyeing the colors shades darker is pretty doable and a lot more durable than paint.

 

Does this mean they are releasing Earthrise Barricade Twice?

 

I wanted another mold of P/CP for a point blank...certainly wasn\'t getting this Barricade but........dang it Hasbro! 

 

It’s possible now that Netflix barricade could be the siege mold but dirtied up. They’re still using siege molds in wave two. With this I’m thinking that might be that figure

Was always a fan of Barricade, but don't really care for this P/CP. I'll see once I have him in-hand.

The plan could very well change moments after they heard snippets or the information they get could've already been outdated. **NEVER** take it as truth until the final product actually comes out, no matter how trustworthy or correct the source was in the past.
