so in IDW Bayverse he actually was a battleship ? I guess I gotta blame the comic guys for the bad decision. A WWI bomber is just so much more appropriate.

 

There is no sense in analyzing this stuff. This line doesn\'t really fit with anything or scale with anything. Studio Series would be closest, but even that isn\'t consistent (Bumblebee is too big, Bulldog is way too small). I would treat these as one-offs to display on their own. Although, I am excited for the Hot Rod and Barricade that are coming to go with Bumblebee.

One thing I have to say: the quality of this line exceeds pretty much everything else Toyworld makes (i.e. the hot pile of crap that is their Freedom Leader)

 

Or, something a little more concept/sci-fi in the Horten H.XVIII.


Which would have been kinda neat to play into the Nazi super weapons idea.

Whoaaaaa cool! I remember actually Jetfire transformed into a ship in one of the tie in comics, Sector 7 I think, and when he transformed to robot mode, he sunk the ship and inadvertently started the Spanish-American War, the goofy old bastard.

 

The combo mode does not fit at all, the concept on a stand alone figure works, but that combining feature kills it for me it looks somewhat reminiscent of the original idea, but it screams please put me out of my misery.

 

I love toy world\'s creativity with these ww2 figures, too bad they\'re so expensive. 

 

This figure looks really good. I wonder if he’ll be more reasonably priced than the smaller bots. TW seems to at least be more worth the price tag at a larger size than a small one, so curious if this guy will be better priced. I always love TW designs for their Details. Just hope everything else turns out alright.

 

He was the USS Maine in the Bayverse Comics - he "caused" the sinking of the Maine... akak Remember the Maine!

That at least explains the Maine association. TW clearly didn't get the memo though.

 

That jet is cool too but that prototype is leaning more towards WW2 or. early 1950's. I was under the assumption that this was a WW1 theme where bi-planes still ruled the sky like their Starscream Red Baron mold.

Man, the more I look, the more I think it's like a Bayern-Bismarck hybrid. It's looks like it has catapult rails amidships, and some levels of the conning tower are SO Bismarck-ish.

I agree, or if you wanted to stick with the theme of the SR-71 (high altitude recon), he could've been an airship.
