What I don't understand is why they can't just show us a painted prototype at this stage. SUPPOSEDLY the trailer is now in production. Regardless, they had an unpainted grey prototype previously. Just paint that one. Or show us the one you used for the base mode photos. If it doesn't hold together well, glue it together and hang it up on strings. I don't care any more - I just want to see what the damn thing looks like when it's finished. The fact that they can't even SHOW us the thing, let alone announcing a price or opening pre-orders for it, is what's really frustrating me personally.
In regards to their Inferno/Grapple/Artfire, we know why they've been "delayed", but the problem is that XTB/KFC keeps coming back to the same excuse of "it's still in the works". We know there were three other Infernos and Grapples, plus two Artfires, released around the time XTB wanted to get theirs out. I think people would be okay with them just saying "sorry, we decided to cancel them because we didn't think there was a big enough market for them any more". But instead, they continue to string us along, as you said. Abaddon seems to be in much the same position. I'd have made the same argument for Virtus (probably even have, at some point), but they gave us an update on him "recently", so I assume he's still coming.

This is the problem, right? Just tell us. If it's not feasible any more, we'll be disappointed, but people become angry when you lead them on instead of just telling them the truth. I get that they're a business and they need to do the usual PR BS, but at some point, you've just gotta say "sorry, it's not happening". Hell, even Apple did that with their fancy wireless charging pad that ended up too ambitious for them, and whilst I think they could have made it less ambitious to still sell a product and save face, I will at least give them credit for just admitting that they couldn't do it in the end and letting it go.

And to your point about the prototypes, I just assumed that we'd have had Locke, then a finished Menasor, then Virtus, and then God-only-knows what else. Now, I know the human malware (along with everything else that could possibly go wrong) decided to take 2020 out back and beat it to a pulp, but there are things that should have been finished before all these lockdowns happened. There are things that should have been produced since. You can't tell me that FansToys can put out almost one figure a month for 3/4 of the year but Keith can't put out a single (new) figure (Junkion retools not included) despite owning his own factory. And I get that his factory has probably been busy with other things, but he owns the factory. FansToys doesn't even have their own factory (though there were rumours to the contrary, but they appear to be nonsense), so they're completely at the mercy of the factory (or factories) that they do use.

Don't even get me started on Autobot X. That thing doesn't transform, but it has articulation. Guess it'll be $250! It's fucking ridiculous at this point. And I'm someone who has given XTB and KFC a LOT of slack over the years, and enjoyed all of their figures I own (which, granted, isn't a ton, but that's besides the point).
Then they should just tell us. But they haven't done that.
As for Outrider, it's only been a month or two since they showed us the redesign, and it seems like they're finally getting around to releasing their older announcements. I give FansToys a lot of shit, but they've been on the ball lately, so I feel confident now that their Trailbreaker, Blitzwing and Soundwave will see the light of day sooner rather than later.

Painted prototype would be nice but I don't consider it all that important right now. We know what it looks like and you can extrapolate the colors based on their other releases. What I want is a place to put in a pre-order with a final price and a firm release date. It's fucking ridiculous to be five figures into a six part set and still have no idea what the last piece is going to cost. It's beyond ridiculous to be five figures in and to have waited this fucking long and still have no information. XTB used to be my favorite 3P but after the trailer, I am fucking done with them. (Which admittedly is easy to say since I have no interest in the omnibots and little interest in the Protectobots, and I already have Springer and Kup figures I'm satisfied with).

That's the thing though - we don't know what the final version looks like. Who knows just how much they've tweaked? All they've said is that they were tweaking it. We don't know what they were tweaking. Could be aesthetic things. We haven't been told specifically. So we still don't really know if the prototypes and renders we've seen will be completely accurate or not.

That's fair but I have faith in XTB. They generally only get better as they revise their designs, not worse, and what we've seen is already good enough for me so I'm confident they'll pull it off. If they ever actually do it, that is.

Bobby Skullface suggested - and I do believe he is right - one of the redesigns was due to the fact that they came out first with Menasor and then DX9 and FT, and these last two went for the same size of the Toyworld/Zeta combiners. XTB was probably not, so they have to rebuild the trailer to reach the same height of the others in combined mode.

    My two cents:

The only one that was showed at TFCon and was previously announced is Autobot X. I noticed that this comment on their Facebook page, below Autobot X's renders:

got a like from the page itself, so I hope they are listening to this kind of feedback

The height rebuild BSF keeps talking about is 1 cm. It went from 49 -> 50cm. I'm not sure why he keeps saying it wont be the same size in combined mode as other Menasors...

I don't know if it's true, I know it makes sense. Apart from MMC, who is a leage of its own, the other combiners are now set to that scale but it's something quite recent, isn't it?

because he kisses the ass of FT so badly that he would consciously send out false info about a competing figure. Before people come in with the "he would never do that", he has done it before. that's one of the many reasons why I have stopped watching his reviews. from his constant drool over FT and knocking any competing product to his low energy drone he is a very tiring reviewer to try to watch.

I haven't seen much drooling when he reviewed Hunk, Rouge and all of the others whose transformation is a nightmare, so to speak.

I dont understand that too why he thinks that the prevoius 49 cm of this Menasor is not going to scale well with the Zeta ones.

I can't really remember XTB ever announcing the size of Menasor, actually.

Well, its a better excuse on Keith's part then "gone fishing". I guess he's trying to find an excuse, and better a logical one than admitting keith is just teasing yall. Glad I never got into this set.

So the trailer is in production apparently. We will be lucky to finish the combiner set by the time 2020 finishes
