This one will go perfectly with the Pingtou Honey Badger, I'm hopeful there will be a BMB OS and Cybertronian tattoos repaint too.
I wish they include all the cool stuff the Leader class did it right, like the weapons stored inside the bot mode forearms.
This looks like it has a ton more paint than the official version, but looks a bit dark to me- may just be photos though. The buttflap being gone though is wonderful. I’m hoping they use matte paint for the vehicle mode, then metallic paint for exposed robot mode parts, where accurate. They’ll have to be very competitive with price to beat all those clearanced Target Screamers, though. Will patiently wait for more photos!
Don't think they will have the ability to retool to such extend. The gimmick in leader class is really classic
With WJ being out of the game I wouldn’t expect retools that do that much to the figure. The best you can expect is Black mamba retooling which really means lights in the head and small changes like the shoulder pads on their prime. Like they’d maybe add a an extra joint in the fingers. Oh and then probably broken hips on 90% of them.
Bmb is also mechanical team. That one's good by all the accounts I've seen. but the starscream makes me wonder if I should still get LS 04 or wait for this .
Better paint + slight modifications indicates BMB. If it has LEDs then it's 100% Black Mamba also if we see multiple quality issues reports. And isn't MPM Starscream roughly the same size as BMB Star Adjutant? Perhaps they do not wish to oversize it at all
Have you seen anyone put MPM-10 with Weijiang's Megatron? It'd change my mind on an OSKO if they were relatively close.
It wouldn't even be too difficult from a design standpoint. Just have a two circle rails with a round hole in the center that sandwich together. The hips and crotch piece would rotate around the jet nosecone sticking down through the center. Lego has a piece that has this exact function. The black piece clips very solidly into the gray piece, and turns freely. Add a bit of friction, adjust the proportions, and this exact mechanism would work for the mpm Starscream. It could even be outfitted with ratchet teeth for a nice clicky waist rotation Edit: A few other changes would also need to be made so the nosecone could slip down into the hole instead of a flap opening and it flipping down into place, but it wouldn't be anything bigger than a couple moved joints in the transformation Edit 2: They could also modify the nose of the jet so the nose tip folds back inside the cockpit in bot mode, that way the nosecone wouldn't stick down between the hips, and a normal waist swivel joint could be added. There's two fairly simple solutions to adding a waist swivel right there
F-22 mode doesn't look too bad, certainly leagues ahead of the Hasbro version. Stabiliser markings aren't quite correct, but certainly close enough and I'm glad they got the air force insignia right. Here's hoping to good QC and an impending release! I think that's just a lighting quirk, the figure looks to have a semi-gloss battleship grey colour that can look quite different depending upon conditions.
