If price were no option, Planet X for Dino Mode and MMC for Robot Mode.

So, if it’s any clue, I’m still really torn. Then again, unless MMC is way further ahead with their Trux than they’ve let on :) lol), Cacus will be available long before Trux, so budgeting both might not be such a big deal, after all.

Yeah, this just is not right at all to me. I’m also still not completely sold on Ismenios or DZef or whether to hold out hope that Iron Trans throws their hat into the ring—or to wait for MasterMade or Iron Factory.

But, I definitely think that Grimlock should at least be a smidge shorter than Deathsaurus. I will grant that PX Deathsie will have a greater bulk with their huge energy wings, but it’s still weird that Grimsy will be a bit taller.

IDW 1.0 constantly loved throughout its run despite some occasional fumbles, and now that it’s over it suddenly seems cool to hate, just like with the MCU. What the heck? :lol  To each their own   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
While this design isn’t as out there as something like AOE Grimlock, it’s still cool imo; always liked his head design. Still hyped for it

    Awesome sauce

Unfortunately @RVDA said in the MMC Trux thread that their Grimlock isn't even in production phase yet, so it's probably going to be another 2 years or so.

I was hoping his pre-order would go up before I left for work so I could get him taken care of, but I guess today just isn't the day for him.:drunk

He's BIGGER than Ismenios!?!? Ismenios is already a massive presence on my shelf I can't wait to get this guy to tower over the scavengers that I do have.

I'm curious as to how much articulation the Dino head has. There's gotta be some sort of movement on the back of the head at least.

I agree that the FOC Dinobots are the best designs, but I love the IDW designs. Especially their dino modes.

    Oh no, he's too big.:(

I suppose I could wait and hope for an undersized KO....

Ahhh yes, but comic art depth perception and inconsistencies aside, while we as collectors would love the best of both worlds, the artwork takes a lot of liberties when it comes to scale.

This is why I hope MMC moves forward with theirs, because at this size for PX, their Dino-mode for Grimlock would be the preferred mode, and MMC for Bot-mode. (BTW this is probably the case for Deathsaurus in terms of modes IMO, purely based on aesthetic preference)

The transformation on this may make for an outrageously large Bot mode, but just the right level of imposing as T-Rex from some of the panel art and cover art.

Sadly nothing can be done because fun fact the old Vulcan height is actually too SMALL for MMCs IDW line lol. Vulcan is at 7 inches with megatron at 8 inches and upcoming Orion Pax at 7.5, so to be fair there wasn’t really a workaround they had to upscale it.

Eh, that’s not a big deal to me. They’re from different continuities, so all Vulcan needs to match up to are PX’s own other FOC figures.

Yeah, that’s what I figured, so it’s highly unlikely that these two are actually directly competing, aside from the fact that they really are based on two different IDW Grimlocks, even if that’s most visible in Bot mode.

I’d guess preorders might be in November at the earliest, but I don’t really have any clue, anyhoo.

For what it’s worth, did anything else from the presentation get a preorder besides MakeToys Acid Storm, which I did get an email about from TFSource?

Given the excellent articulation of Cacus’ tail like with Vulcan, it’d be surprising if their Dino head isn’t similarly posable like Vulcan, too, with at least a bit of bend.

I highly doubt there will be an undersized KO, and, to the best of my knowledge, I don’t think PX has ever been KO’ed.

If you’re interested and think you could display it separately somewhere, I’d suggest doing that. Since I’m mostly a legends collector, that’s what I’ll be doing anyway.

Well I'm sold on this. :)  The fact that he's coming out in only a few months makes this better. If we get the other IDW Dinobots later on as well as make organic Dinosaur versions of them they have my money big time!

    Well, that's a FLEX :)
I own 7 pages from MTMTE, and every one of them feels like a TREASURE

Regarding Grimlock, 27cm is just to big, it won't fit anywhere :(  It is the size of MMC's Helex

so hes the perfect size for a giant dinosaur robot? I still think him being too big is better than too small, Grimlock is always massive.

I think the price will shock us and not in a good way.

Ah well I am dinoed out, so I am not too bothered.

That’s my main fear. Prices seem to have really gotten out of control lately. Are newer 3p and MP really that much better than they were eight Tara ago, when they were half the price?
