Hello This is quite possibly the simplest custom ever. Just take the head off Siege Prowl and replace the repainted Bluestreak head on ER Prowl to give him his own unique head. Looks miles better.
Same Here, Until I can find an ER Bluestreak, I bought the Siege one for $14 the other day and plan on painting Prowl's head grey until I get the proper er one. Looks great!
Is that safe though? I only have ER Smokescreen currently, but his head feels like it's on so tight that if I tried to pop it off I would end up wrenching the ballpeg off.
It is tighter than the siege, but is still a decent swap and the head still moves. Could sand the ER Prowl peg or make the hole bigger on the head, whichever is preferable, but it still works without.
Did you do any kind of prep-work before popping ER-Prowl's head off? Like heating or prying in a certain direction? When I swapped the Siege and ER Optimus heads around, I had to specifically pull from the sides, for example.
Nope, just popped the ER one off and added the new one. Could maybe use a flat ended screwdriver under the head to ease it off gently, but the peg seems very strong.
it did. Smokescreen is the obvious one, but Prowl had a more pronounced chevron crest (sharper and taller) and the things on the sides of his head. Bluestreak had a smaller fatter chevron crest and the sides of his head are smooth. looking at the earthrise toys and considering how they looked in the toon, Prowl actually has Bluestreak's head, not the other way around. Edit: found the perfect image.
I was wondering when this would be done. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if this was intended for collectors by Hasbro, so people-in-the-know could choose their head for the character (both Siege, Both ER, or one or the other for both). They seemingly did that with Siege/ER Optimus prime, with the Siege/ER Megatron molds, with the 1977 and 2007 Camaro Bumblebee molds for Studio Series. I'm sure there's some more examples. But yeah, giving Prowl the Siege Head and having Bluestrea keep the ER head is the way to go.
I have a junker Siege Prowl..I know what I’m doing with it now. I also just now noticed Hasbro once again didn’t paint the legs and abdomen
