This is the latest posted on it by the original designer who works for MMC:
An expected release in 2022, thus no reason to expect any real updates this year or even early next year. Sometime in 2021 we will likely see the first finalised design.

Thanks mate! Gosh that's a long time away. I was debating on pulling the trigger on the Perfect Effect figure. Looks like this badboy is 11 inches, so the scale is so much better! That said 2022 is a bit long to wait, I think PE may just join the crew for now!

"I would have waited an eternity for this...."
But 2 years is just fine by me.

This figure seeing the light of day is the exact reason I haven't bought the PE version. I missed out on the crowdfund, so I'm glad to see it getting a potential wide release.

I suppose they've done their forecasts but it seems strange they're making the batman-style remold of the Ratbat figure instead of making this sooner :(

The easy remolds and repaints help pay for bigger figures like this

That’s a convention exclusive figure. The production timeline isn’t changed because of that. They’re not doing Supermax right now for a lot of other reasons.

    This.

The guys have stated anyway that Max only is starting his engineering process, well, at this point it'd be next year if not already. And then 2022-23 should show a release if all goes well.

So now that Optus Pexus has released and wowed everyone, @RVDA is there anything design/element-wise from R-48 being incorporated into Supermax? Looking through the lens of Optus through this thread has made me more excited for how awesome R-50 could end up being.

I feel like if they can sell out of a $200 big boy like TorTor most everywhere, they can likely get Fort Max going and expect to sell out as well. I realize TorTor was the capstone to the DJD, but a $200 figure is still a $200 figure, and it's not like Tesaurus is immediately recognizable. Fort Max at least has that going for him, and with the growth of the 3P fandom since the crowdfund, plus the Optus Pexus hype train, it has to be somewhere closer to reality.

Not saying I want to shell out $200 again immediately, buuuuuuut I would pay that much for a figure that would likely be better than the Perfect Effect option at $170 without the upgrade kit.

Fort Max was one of my favorite characters in the comics. I really hope this figure gets made. I definitely would have backed it if I had known about 3p Tranformers when they did the crowd funding.

Griffith is going to work on this and he said he'll be looking to incorporate elements of it here.

Oh, I can just see it now... Fort Max with Pexus level engineering would just an insanely awesome sight to behold.

Still on the edge of my seat waiting for even more to come of the big guy, can't wait!

This and D-zef are my two most anticipated figures right now.

Checking today 2021-02-16, across BBTS, TCP, TF Source, Toy Dojo, A3U, and PSX: None of those places have sold out.

Not saying that Supermax won't be a success, but I doubt Tortor's current sales are a positive indicator of that.
