"They have a new character called Windblade"
Windblade's been part of the TF roster since at least 2014.

It’s from the perspective of an incredibly casual fan. Think, watched about a dozen episodes in the 80s, saw the 86 movie and is aware of the live action movies but otherwise hasn’t been involved since the moment they walked out of the theater in 86. They’re here for the gameplay, not the license.

Really though, from all they’ve said in the video it sounds like the game is fine. It’s a fun little strategy game without the stress of permadeath or soft locking yourself out of any possible win conditions and rendering all your play time wasted.

Yeah. And most of her appearances have been in the comics, which are even less known.
She had a few episodes in RID 2015 & then a larger role in Cyberverse, which is still very new and flew under the radar for anyone not specifically seeking out TFs.

“New to the series is a character called Optimus Prime. I wasn’t sure about the character at first, but the more I played, the more it felt as if the character had always been the leader of the Autobots, the character was that good!”

I wasn’t making fun of your post by the way, I was just making fun at how casual some of these reviews are.

No worries. Alsom the Cinemassacre reviewers sound slightly dead inside.

Yeah, I agree with that. On a different side note, when the publisher of the game is sponsoring your review of said game, I don’t think I can necessarily take the word of the reviewers at face value.

I read another review where the reviewer didn't even do enough research to know that Cyberverse exists. They seemed to think this was just some original work and was musing about them not getting Bumblebee's G1 voice actor among other things.

Wasn't Cinemassacre the same people who complained about FOC for "not using the original transformation sound" ? :lol

I got it but won’t play it till later this week.

I also feel that TF games just don’t have a broad enough appeal to justify a AAA budget. Sorry to say.

And big publishers will avoid grabbing a license because why invest big money on some else’s IP instead of your own? Unless all your original IP starts tanking, you’ll avoid licensing someone else’s.

Hasbro should stick to budget titles with proven, smaller indy teams. Look at how vibrant the indy scene has been! There’s lots of great talent outside of the big publishers.

And lastly, don’t hate Unity! You might be surprised with what it can deliver... ;)

Yep, the window for mass appeal began and ended with the movies. Outside of that the franchise is either kids toys or that thing for creepy old weirdos. The teen and young adult gamer demo just does not care about the license because it isn’t trendy.

Anything Transformers is going to be a niche title that won’t get a ton of money thrown at it. The industry is just too reliant on existing game franchises and Transformers isn’t one.

Your only ‘real’ bet right now for a more traditional licensed game is the online game that’s been in development limbo for about a half decade and has an incredibly high chance of just getting dropped before its ever finished. Or it’ll just get dumped onto the Chinese market and hidden from the rest of the world like the last one.

God this thing just reeks of lazy cash-grab, even that recent G.I. Joe game was more inspired than this. :/

Unless Has-bin gets its head out of G1 one`s ass and does something to reinvent itself this will be case for a while. Get ready to see worse.
