I think it depends on the figures. My ER Hoist, Siege Prowl and Siege Red Alert were all really floppy/flimsy while my Super Megatron had nice smooth joints and the plastic quality is roughly as good as the WFC leader figures I have played with thus far. Granted I don't have Doubledealer yet.

The only part that felt cheap to me was the elbows and the hip panels, and they were unmodified from the TR Galvatron mold. Oh, some of the paint applications are a little sloppy as well, the regular chest plate on mine has some gunmetal specks on it. My Generations selects Snaptrap felt super cheap though, much worse than any WFC trilogy voyagers I had and he was over twice the price of those!

I personally think it's emblematic of how good the WFC toylines have been so far, that the stuff we find in local toy stores for retail prices nowadays is (on average) just as good as the Japanese imports we were paying premium for a mere couple of years ago.

It’s still odd how Sideswipe feels more solid than Red Alert (although I do want to point out that RA’s looser joints make for much smoother posing). Hoist was the absolute low point of WFC for me. Siege Prowl also felt a bit on the light and cheap side.

Plastic quality quite often is more of a subjective affair and I am sure plenty folks have no problem with ER Hoist. I don’t my Super Megs in yet, so I can’t comment on that (actually, I’ll be getting him together with LG Sixshot so it’ll be interesting for me to compare these two TR molds). But I expect a tad less anyway from these Selects figures (compared to the better WFC figures).

I like him, barely believable that THIS was TR Galvatron. IMG_20201007_073144.jpg

Can anyone show me a size comparison between this guy and studio series 2007 Megatron and Optimus, or just some studio series bots in general? It’s a weird request because I have most of the SS figures, but they’re all back home and this guy is here lol. Thanks!

Can you paint it yourself? It doesn't look like it'll be too difficult to do.

I imagine so, Tamiya red paint might be a good match from the looks of it. It's definitely frustrating though.

That sucks, I'm guessing it was Hasbro pulse? I wonder what's going on over there. The Takara Seacons were delayed by two of three months over there as well from what I remember, you would think Hasbro would be getting these figures before anyone else.
I guess a month and a bit isn't too long to wait though, and the figure is totally worth that wait, even more so if the delayed batch has less QC issues overall.

Sent an email to the Omegalock guys a couple days ago, they haven't sent an reply as of yet, but I imagine I will see one soon enough.
Hopefully they can sort me out with a replacement gun, outside of that missing paint application I have few complaints with the figure.

You've been a TFW member for eight years, so I assume you have been collecting or interested in collecting for at least that long. How is it that you are unaware of the term "scalping?"

Anyway, to mirror other members' sentiment, this forum is not a forgiving venue for questions pertaining to scalping advice. My personal recommendation is that you auction it on eBay, set the starting bid to the minimum amount you wish to receive, and then let the bidders decide the final worth.

So, got Super Megatron in thanks to one of our sponsors. (Packed well, shipped fast. Won't say who they are because they're out of stock and I don't want people harassing them for one. lol)

    He's GREAT!

Yes, he's a tad held back due to being Galvatron at his core, but the changes made really save the day. There's so much new here and it looks fantastic, all of it. Might be in my top five favorite Megatrons. They put a lot of effort and plastic into this one. Man, what a nice design/figure. Takara-Tomy more or less wowed me with Piranicon, but this? Magic.

Pulse has always been roughly two months beyond general release. Because e-tailers are getting stock straight from Takara while Pulse gets the black outer box treatment that indicates it's an official Takara product.

It's not the term "scalping" but what constitutes "scalper prices." The bar for that has fallen significantly. Small shops selling deluxes for $21.99 (vs $19.99 at WalFart - whenever they get around to putting some out) are often accused of "scalping." People selling extras of a made-to-order item, which eliminates the scarcity aspect required for textbook scalping to occur, are also accused of "scalping." Scalping has become a shortcut for "I don't want to pay that, or make any accommodations whatsoever, so therefore you are evil."

@goobahead1 My advice to you is to wait for eBay prices to reach about triple retail and sell it somewhere for only double retail. I would tell you the same if you were buying these things through wholesale channels as well. Once prices are up a little, you deal with a different sort of customer, that doesn't try so hard to wear you down.

Well, apparently, the Combiner Wars Legends Rodimus is based on the Micromaster Rodimus included with the original Star Convoy figure. This is at least supported by the fact that Battle Core Optimus has a head design based on Star Convoy. Not sure if Battle Core Optimus has any other nods to Star Convoy, but the fact that Combiner Wars Rodimus is supposed to plug into Battle Core Optimus' chest for combiner mode is likely a reference to the fact that the Micromaster Rodimus can store in the chest of Star Convoy's original figure. In that sense, if you get the Generations Selects Star Convoy and pair him with Combiner Wars Rodimus, you are probably fulfilling at least some part of Hasbro's authorial intent in creating the latter.

Seems like something Shockwave Lab could do as well. They seem to have made quite a number of gap fillers for various figures.

He seems to be made more out of Optimus (with the head and torso and arms and upper legs) than Megatron. I presume that if he is created as a physical figure, he'll use an Optimus figure as a base for a retool, with the Megatron parts being new.

True, but I see an issue like this as a pretty small one that can be fixed on my own. I don't really think it's something worth the trouble of persuing a refund or exchange for.

It's kinda funny, considering that people often say that the designers put all their effort into Optimus and then cheap out on Megatron, one example being their Earthrise figures compared to their Siege counterparts. Interesting to see that this time around, Super Megatron got what appears to be a lot more work and effort being done to his figure versus the Star Convoy that was previously released.

Yes, the cheap hollow plastic syndrome was strong in the original Galvatron mold.

CHPS is really a shame since Megatron looks pretty good, also Galvatron.
