I kinda wish that there was an option to flip the doors out as wings, so you could choose to make him show or toy accurate.
I love tr Bee. It's a great figure. But when you put it next to earthrise cliffjumper you immediately get why tr bee is just 10 dollar and earthrise cliff 20.
Lemme guess, it should be based on size rather than parts count, paint apps, detail, budget, etc? Oh he just has Resting Glitch Face, he's not actually frowning.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I think this looks amazing. Except it's '86SS. It is explicitly meant to be accurate to the show and NOT the toys.
how the doors are part of the backpack i guess you can flip-em out but if there all wierd then we need an upgrade kit for him.Another thing thats wierd is how the feet is the back bumper it just looks akward
yeah, those feet hanging off the back of the alt mode and the slightly doofy looking proportions (short, wide torso, weird shoulder connections) just moved Jazz to hard pass. I was leaning to "no" anyways, but these pix cement it. plus the deco is so bland and unfinished-looking, just not a $23 figure.
Good thing this type of baffled logic is 100% fact. If Hasbro's Rumble and Frenzy's of this scale were this quality then I wouldn't have had to buy 3P figures for the first time in this case either. So the justification stands for itself. And I don't even know were this thing is (only got it for Ratbat) but it was never taken out of the box. ....... As for Jazz again, here's hoping Blaster is still on that Moonbase with him and will show up soon in 86'SS or Kingdom next year.
The number 14 is understandable because it keeps the 4 where it should be while also homaging his G2 number (I'm guessing there's a licensing issue), the connotations are just rather unfortunate. So I went in to this thinking I might buy it, and while I can't find more than a handful of small things to fault, I'm really not feeling it. Maybe it's the lack of a smile, but he's not exactly bursting with the personality that he's renowned for. The feet stop the alt mode from excelling (they just feel kind of lazy), and the robot mode is dragged down by several small things (his frown, the really obvious and annoying hollow arms, backpack's a little clunky, hollow thighs) that stop it from excelling. The transformation seems fairly standard, kinda unique doors but that's about it. The way the front wheels work is neat, but SS Dropkick does the same trick and I've already got him. He's not bad, he's not mediocre, but for me personally, I don't look at these pictures and think "I should pay a twenty for him".
I took an extra TR Bee's head and placed it on TR Roadburn's body after painting the head red to make my own version of CJ. I did pre-ordered Bugbite which is a character I place in a class all by himself ever since BotCon's version. It's not perfect but I still think he's better than that POTP version I skipped... To me: RTS - 8.5/10 PoTP - 4/10 86'SS - 7/10 I'll likely just keep RTS Jazz in car mode while this upcoming Jazz warrants a purchase due to his scale with WCF figures in Bot mode.
I think you just got your expectations raised by Hot Rod, who is a large Deluxe-sized character at Voyager price, which allowed him the budget to get filled in a bit better. Actual Deluxes are still Deluxes.
who buy toy have toy on shelf looking at hollow pieces only it’s same as buying toy have figure facing wall and complaining about how hollow parts on back showing unless your looking for gaps they will be there unless you really want toy buy it regardless gaps and no gaps should not make toy buy it’s same as hiding book it’s cover
Looks pretty good, if a little "generic Autobot car-bot" for my taste, which I can only fault so much because it's a toy based on a design which was the TEMPLATE for the standard hood-chest Autobot look. "Argh Argh hollow arm and leg bits" and all that, but we're at a point in toy history where you can either accept it as a recurring given on main-line toys (and either buy or don't) , or turn into the grump crank. I wish the deco was a little bolder, with some stripes on the rear fenders, and I keep hoping for a happier-looking face sculpt (hell, I'd be ecstatic with the subtle smile '06 Bumblebee got). At least he doesn't have the Judge Dredd scowl from the RTS Jazz. I'm on board. Could be better, but that might require a Hot Rod Voyager budget applied to a deluxe-size figure.
But old Porches had feet hanging off the back. Seriously, it's much easier to forgive than ER Ironhide. I like this better than RTS jazz, looks more accurate and... Ankle tilts! (I detest preposed feet, and RTS jazz is a huge offender)
