If it were coming out in 2 or 3yrs I wouldn't bother, as I don't think we're in for the shit show some predict.

However, in the short term the currency market will be like a rollercoaster whilst the financial markets acclimatise properly. And no way that's solved by June next year. I reckon the first 18 months are all over the place, then circa 12 months to stabilise and then we'll be somewhere between where we are now and where we were before all this. Then it'll take a few years to build on that base.

And @Sam , I didn't even think about yen as safe. Of course, it's like the dollar and gold isn't it?

Okay, that leaves me with

1) gift card for AJP now, and hold onto the small refund if I get one (or buy a house here if it's a super strong yen  )
2) save 20 quid now, potentially less long term, but risk TFS-Express emailing me in June to say shipping went up (although if they're sensible they'll exchange our sterling for yen or yuan before new year just in case, and won't get hit potentially as hard)

Just a thought as well for anyone who has an AJP preorder, the cancellation deadline is tomorrow 25th. If you've been waiting to see if the price drops before deciding to keep or cancel a preorder, I'm not sure whether AJP defines the 25th as whatever time zone you're in or Japanese time zone?

Basically, people should consider cancelling in the next few hours if that was your plan just in case the deadline passes.

But, it does say 'not eligible for cancellation after the 25th', so that should mean you are able to cancel on the 25th, right? If so, you'll have until 23:59 on the 25th, Japanese time, not 23:59 today. That's my thinking anyway...

Also, did you go AJP or TFS-Express?

I've got an AJP preorder which is at ¥28,593 now, but I'm in the same boat as you debating whether to go with TFS-Express and get the cheaper price locked in now.

I've went for TFS UK. All this Corona/Brexit bollocks isnt worth the stress. If the price goes up a little then I don't mind. Still cheaper than Kapow and ID probably

 

How'd you get it to 28593? I add it to basket and it's 28789, and the price is the lowest it's been  . You using some points? I wanted to use Arcee's points but they won't materialise until she's released...

It's already applied to stuff over that. The changes affect thing under that. So undervalue isn't helpful anymore. From that page:
Imports of a value below £135
For these goods, the following changes will apply from 1 January 2021:

• There is to be no import VAT payable at the time of import for these types of goods
• The time VAT is due to be paid will move from the point of importation to the point of sale


Strictly, buying now and delivery next year should escape it, but the legal position is that Skywarp and Thundercracker will have to have vat charged at point of sale. There's a few companies already pulling out of selling to the UK because of this.

TFS-Express are okay, because they are UK based and/or can sell to Omegalock who can recover the vat tfs charge them, as input tax on their own vat returns.

It won't take long for the known undervaluing sellers to be targeted, and goods seized etc.

 

Unless you consider that MP-40 is Firebolt and Hot Rod was just an accessory. Then it fits.

I go with 28 being Hot Rod prior to his ascension to Prime, and 40 being a 'different' Hot Rod who's been changed by assuming that role. Plus, he's now a Targetmaster type dude to boot.

TL;DR, whilst still the same overall character, I see the two as distinct parts of his arc.

Actually, in the West, it works better because Soundblaster is just a black Soundwave toy. No Twincast from Blaster etc in G1 toon. Of course TT would acknowledge that, right? Ahem...

The only thing I can guess is that it has dropped to 21,145 at some point and nobody noticed it.
