October isn't over yet! Magnum was near the very end of June was it

 

So far I'm liking Magnum's alt mode the best. Always loved Ferrari's and I don't think there were any other G1 representations of the Ferrari.

I'm really liking Drag Strip's bot mode and how clean it looks. I have XTB's Drag Strip and the back is just a mess but FT really were able to get it cleaned up nice. Same with Spoiler, wish they could have cleaned up Magnum's back a little better. Looking forward to seeing more of Dead End.

 

Magnum's alt mode is pretty slick. The transformation on both he and Spoiler are really clever I think. I don't find his back to be too much of a mess ... it's not as clean as Spoiler's or Smokey's but it's not bad. I'm really loving this set by ft and yep, definitely looking forward to seeing more of Bandit and the combined mode.

 

Don't get me wrong, Magnum still looks really good in bot mode. I'm just amazed at how well they got Spoiler and Smokey's backs to clean up in comparison to XTB. Looking at Bandit he'll probably have a similar back as Magnum.

Curious to see who completes Menasor first, FT or XTB.

 

is XTB trailer not out in december?

 

I don't think they've given a release date yet. Just checked on TFSource, BBTS and TCP and nothing listed for the trailer. The Chinese sellers might be doing preorders but if the US sites don't have anything up I'd be surprised if it makes December, unless they announce something this weekend.

 

Well both companies seemed to be at war since FT jumped and showed pictures of theirs when XTB was releasing to steal customers and now they're waiting as long as they can to show their combiner skeleton secrets as to not have the other steal ideas. XTB only needs to release the trailer so they will probably release first or they might wait for FT, its always easier to avoid mistakes when someone else makes them first

 

They said before the end of the year but I’d take that with a grain of salt, we’ve had a few other expected release windows

While I can understand thinking of that as a reason, this late in the game they would lose more than they gained if they took the time to incorporate anything of significance stolen from the other company. Think for a moment how things are already in the XTB thread with the delay of the trailer, now imagine if they took the time to redesign and incorporate something from FT, design, testing, molding, possibly fixing something that didn't work. Similar if it was reversed, though not as much anger if FT did the same since they don't have the extended delay on their Stunticons at this point.

Just been having a look at Deadend and I think I have an idea of how the transformation will work. It looks fairly straight forward... not sure about the arms but looks like they'll snug up against the side of the bot... the bicep and elbow will hinge in so that curved section sits over the wheel.

edit: the arms may actually slide into the chest cavity like Magnum's.

 

pretty sure it'll be XTB first... maybe DX9 will have their Dragstrip this weekend?

 

yeah they will probably reuse the compressing arms like they reused the arms folding into the chest from Goose and Iceman
