No, they are not. Sausages and bananas aren't produced with the intention to look like a dick. Those "shapes" don't reference anything, it's the other way around. We reference them for the sake of innuendo humour, specifically because they are not actually dicks. Hence the innuendo, but nobody looks at sausages or bananas and actually thinks to themselves "Oh my God there's penises all over this grocery store!" "Slag" isn't innuendo, though, it's literally a word for prostitute. It'd be like calling Slag "Hooker" in America, it's that synonymous. Comparing it to innuendo about bananas and sausages is not even close to the same thing.
Late to comment, though I saw this a few days ago. I realize this is centered on SS86 in particular, and my guess is that they’re keeping him on lock, or it’s just too early given his Kingdom wave, but when are we going to see Galvatron?
After skimming the posts, now I'm generally curious. In British vernacular, does "Slag" also refer to the leftover/undesirable materials from smelting/ refining metal ore or is it only used as a derogatory term?
You’re right, I should’ve specified that WE USE them as references. That’s my bad. However, almost all words have double meanings. And I’m sure that there are words that mean similar things. It’s just how we choose to interpret things. If your mind naturally goes to the “prostitute” definition, ok. If not, that’s fine too. And I’m sure that most people will back off once they hear it, except for the Karens. Anyways, I don’t want to get into a debate about the English language, as that will get ridiculous, not to mention the versions of English there are. Also, the grocery store line was absolutely hilarious man
It's both, depends on context. The derogatory term is more used I would assume, as smelting is rarely a day-to-day topic of discussion
You must be young... Nothing surprising there! Mistransformed stock pictures are guaranteed. It has pretty much become tradition, dontcha know dating back to Hasbro's catalogues since way back the early 90s.
I mean, if the photographers use the transformation instructions provided in the boxes, no wonder they never transform them right.
This was one of my favorite Bart Simpson moments. He gets a guitar in his hands and THIS is the part of his Rock N Roll fantasy that he thought was awesome. As a wanna be rock star myself, I laughed my butt off at that. Maybe Hasbro's releasing Slag in the states and not even pretending to send it to the UK this go-round? Seems from what I've heard that'd be pretty par for the course.
Interesting. Just wondering because the figures in quintesson pit of judgement and the upcoming Cyclonus look pretty spot on to the movie and would blend well with the SS figures. It's devoid of the siege greeebliness and doesn do too much to stray from the 86 design language. So i was just wondering if the worlds are just merging. It's wonderful! Good time to be a tf fan. Young? Not anymore, unfortunately. Even though it happens all the time, it still makes me laugh (and shake my head) every time.
