Hello All, Apologies if this has been addressed. I’ve looked within the vastness of the site and drew a blank. I would like my Hasbro Siege UM to be marginally taller in bot mode. Im unsure if I should obtain the filler/leg extension kit or purchase the KO OS UM by BPF. I would be most grateful if anyone can comment, preferably confirm if they have increased the height of Siege UM in bot mode with the leg extension/filler kit and if they are happy with the result. I would also appreciate if anyone already owns the BPF figure and/or both, which they feel appears better in bot mode. I’m really just keen to know if the proportions are better on the KO OS figure than just extending the length of the Hasbro figure. I look forward to the input from the members on the site. Kind regards, Steve
I have the BPF upscale of Siege Magnus but not the regular Magnus unfortunately so can't provide side by side comparisons. The fillers in the thighs and pauldrons are great, nice and clean. The battle damage has been removed. The figure itself has been upscaled ever so slightly comparaed with the original by all accounts. The legs are extended but look just a touch shorter than what those RS leg extenders appear offer? I could be wrong though? For the price it costs to pick up the KO via Ebay I would grab him and if you're not happy flip him. I feel sure you would make your money back here in the UK especially whilst Siege Magnus is still popular. Q: Do you currently own the regular Siege Magnus? If not IMO I would go with the KO!
Thanks Mel. I own the regular Siege UM. I initially thought the proportions on the KO OS figure looked better. I also noticed that the KO has the fillers and clean paint job. I came across these shots online. First two photos show Hasbro regular Siege UM next to the KO OS one. Third photo shows the OS figure against a rule. TFSafari have the filler/extenders for $17 and factor in shipping puts the total cost at circa $25. So getting the OS figure is possibly $10-12 more costly. I’m not worried about the respective prices but the proportions in a taller UM in bot mode.
Getting rid of the battle damage alone, is an improvement at least as big as the actual height change.
I was not overly fussed with the battle damage but I agree with some figures in the line they certainly look better without it.
I have a Siege Magnus with the leg extension and filler kit, I'm very happy with the improved height and proportions. Inner robot Magnus looks fine either with or without the extension kit, but armored Magnus definitely looks a lot better with the longer thighs. I don't have the OS Magnus so I'm not sure, but it looks like the feet aren't angled on him like the official version, which is something I think looks a bit better.
Many thanks Xueyue2. Top man for providing this link to the money shot photo for me which shows the comparison of the KO on the left against the original figure with leg extenders on the right: The proportions look better on the KO and the feet being straightened (which irritated me a bit on the original) was a good move along with the clean paint job. Thanks again.
Thanks to all for your input. I’ve just gone and bought the KO from EBay for £28.50. Mr.Brian2009 was the eBay seller I bought the figure from. I was close to getting the upgrade kit from TFSafari as I think it is a viable option to get more out of the official figure.
Should be in receipt of the OS UM in the next day or two. Just seen from a tracking system the figure landed in the UK on the 19th Oct. Relatively quick given the pandemic and impact on global shipping.
Late to the party here, but I agree that the OS KO Magnus is the way to go. I got one from Aliexpress with a broken arm, but the replacement figure arrived fine. I personally think that the slight upsizing of the figure fits in really nicely with the original Siege/Earthrise line wonderfully. The core robot is just a little bigger than ER Prime, and the combined mode makes Magnus look like the huge tank he should be, but not stupidly so. Keeping the weapons pegs at the standard size was also a smart move
Great photos Beef. Never too late and your photos will help others to decide what way they want to go with UM. For me I wanted UM to scale with TR Sixshot and G-Creation Dinos. As you say the upscaling makes UM the unit he should be. Many thanks for posting to this.
Here is my reveiw, I really liked it for the price and for what is meant to be. I hope it helps others decide if they want to buy it or not.
hi guys, any suggestions on how to tighten up Mag's hip joints? (outwards motion, not forward/back). Cheers
I am really sorry Pope, I clearly missed this post from you. Did you sort out your figure? I have not had any problems with the official Siege UM figure and even the OS one which has replaced it has tight joints. I’ve been lucky. I would probably use floor polish to start with and if that fails have a look at unscrewing parts to see if can access the hip sockets.
