Just got mine today, haven't transformed him but during handling I noticed two diecast purple pieces fell out. They're about 1/2" long, and I don't see any tabs on them. Can anybody tell me where they came from?

 

They slide into the back wing section where it connects to the body. They slide up. I had a loose one and I slide it back in.

 

The mainline(?). If we are talking about MP, then I would say they are super easy to find. MP-44 is still available at all Western online stores at MSRP. Same thing with MP-45 all the way to MP-50.

My theory is that stores have to make up the sh**** sales of the mainline products with FT stuff. Thanks Takara!!

 

Found it, thanks! It's an odd piece though: didn't seem to cover a screw or anything, just fills up an empty cavity.

 

I feel ya man. Everybody's pointing the finger at FT for orders not fulfilled etc, mine was cancelled as well. But I was wondering if I'm a retailer and FT allocated 200 units of FT-44 to me.
Knowing how everyone is going apeshit over FT releases nowadays I'll just sell 100 as preorders and keep the remaining 100 to be sold sometime down the line
as '2nd run' of sorts with a markup of at least 200% (even 300%) of the original pre order price. In the end, its all about the profits.

It's adding to the FT heft!   It's like that tear down that found Beats headphones had metal weights in them for no reason other than to add weight.

Don't get me wrong, I have a number of FT figures and am waiting to pick up a Thomas myself. But what other logical reason could there be for them to be diecast, as opposed to say plastic?

Haven't handled the figure itself yet so there might be a logical reason ..

Re the knee. No, unfortunately not. Someone (apologies to that person, i cant remember who) posted that FT had said they wont have spare parts to send out, so without swapping ratchet parts with someone else, i dont see a resolution.
It may be possible to mod, but there would be issues, and it would be very involved (most or all the key parts are metal too).
Turning the joint into a friction joint would weaken it too much for my liking, as too would taking a bit off the metal ratchet piece or chamber edge so it moves half a click on friction to straighten before the ratchet engages.
For me (and as you see from my posts i do tend to do a fair bit of minor-medium fixes / preventative mods), its just too much of a risk i think, given the only gain is in robot mode, and satisfaction of my OCD!

FT said they don't have spare parts, not necessary that they WON'T.

Yeah, the main line. You know, the one that is generally GOOD quality, reasonably priced, and has ALL THE CHARACTERS I WANT. The one that's pretty much sold out everywhere. That one.

Maybe if Takara made MP figures that didn't crumble like Starscream after Galvatron shot him they'd sell better. OR if they were like 2/3 of the price. I was never gonna get MP44 at full price (And getting the KO made me SUPER glad I didn't) but if Hound didn't break just by sneezing on it, I'd have bought one. I think I'm out of Beast Wars MP though. Maybe I'll snag a Megatron KO but that's pretty much it.

 

Facts. But they're also expensive items so you end up with hundreds of dollars tied up for a period of time. At this point I'm not looking to get new figures to sell off, I'm just looking to complete my collection... I already have an entire storage unit FULL of stuff I REPLACED that I need to sell, LOL
