thanks for the history lesson, you dont want the new mold to be the exclusive, they aren't making a larger amount due to the pandemic, it would sell out too fast and we'd have a maketoys g2 jazz situation times 100

 

Ha!  I just got the cel version of this 2days ago.  Nice looking fig, but not sure about the reason for clear bots (except ghost SScream, invisible Mirage, and clear MP Megs for the change to Galvatron).  Easy pass, but at least there\'s the option.

 

We are okay with the first run of a mold being a lesser variant that isn't as popular as the G1 version so any issues can be resolved for the main run.
We'd rather have the main version sooner but given the choices they have, we'd want to see a repaint of an Autobot cassette mold as a convention exclusive this year, so we'd know the main version is coming soon in 2021.

 

...reminds me of the smoky-translucent blank cassettes which were popular in the early nineties...

That means we'll be getting a transparent Rumble/Frenzy next year? Or have they done it already.

 

I could be forgetting something, but I believe this is only the second time MMC has done a translucent figure after the Mirage TFCon figures.

 

honestly that would be a very appealing translucent figure when you consider the piston's internal mechanism. i think that would look cool

Same with Hellion, they did a black con exclusive first. It’s also a good way to test the mould. Like with Azalea, she had those flip out OX style heels which were subsequently removed on the regular versions.

I mean I’d also prefer a black/special retool for the con. Hell even something more Halloween like would’ve been exciting. Glow in the dark Ravage anyone? Or as was mentioned, a Stripes. Wouldn’t even have to retool him and people would still buy it. Well tbh they might not for that exact detail but it’s surely not a hard one to sell.

 

Can I please just have that silver and black 1st edition fal out of the sky into my yard or something?

 

I have the Original, Cell, Howlback, and Glit versions... and now Covert. I can't get enough of this design!
