Yeah, it's great on flat surfaces, but annoying as hell on curved surfaces. I only got this one years ago because it was the only one available at my local hobby shop back then. It has served its purpose kind of decently, and like you, I don't scribe lines too much, so the precision wasn't really needed. Honestly, I've been using the scriber to score sheets of ABS and plexiglass for my arcade stick builds more than anything.
That's definitely a great price. Their 2nd product looks very promising too. At $10 or $15 a piece, I can see more people willing to army-build or customize these figures.
Ooh, I remember seeing this not too long ago and was considering pre-ordering it but wasn't sure on the quality of them. They look like nice poseable little figures.
You dirty dirty chest sticker. Make me spend like 30 minutes perfecting your placement, only to realize 2 weeks later that you're opaque as hell and won't even let any light through. Now, this, this is much better.
You're not alone. I'll literally mail my wallet to Bandai for a P.Bandai Prototype Stark... again. That reminds me.. I just checked the status of my open P.Bandai US orders, PolyBall and Qubeley DAYUM Pink are preparing to ship. - So long poorly molded helmetless Lockon. but, to his credit, he does look like he's cradling the sniper module. I'm running through the MG Dynames, and like how they incorporate the GM Sniper's flexible frame design in the GN Frame. I'll return to the PG Exia soon enough, I just need something less time consuming while focusing more energy in the stable again,again... again. I've got another project right now, started on Sunday. Meet "Jack." anyway... back to Gunpla, I've got a friend mailing me back the MG Exia R2 I thought I didn't want because I suddenly want to work on it again. Working on the Dynames at the moment sees how much improvement the "00" kits are getting in Master Grades. If there's one criticism I have for the MG Exia, it's that it doesn't have this level of articulation in its torso. Meanwhile, I bought a bottle of fluorescent yellow-green Gaianotes paint for Amazing Exia and to outweigh the shipping cost, picked up the Kyrios too.
Two questions for you fine folks who I haven't talked to in ages: First: Anybody got experience with the old MG Qubeley? My local kit shop has it for 45 bucks and I need it. Second: What tools do ya'all use to scribe panel lines? I have the tape and a nice hobby knife, but it doesn't feel like enough.
The old Quebeley I suppose is okay as a display piece, but it's got nowhere near the rugged build of a modern MG. It's still of the old "glorified 1/100 HG" persuasion. No inner frame, hollow construction, weak-ish joints/overly reliant on balljoints. Looks mighty impressive, but that's all that it is. For scribing, you're probably going to want some finepoint scribing chisels or a scribing knife. A regular hobby knife won't do the job, as it's only good for razor thin cuts. Trying to take out any more material than that to make a nice, obvious panel line will get inconsistent results if you're cutting and retracing with the hobby blade. And they make tape specifically for use as a scribing guide as well. It's noticeably thicker than masking tape and made of plastic, so it won't peel and deflect like mere masking tape, and gives you a nice solid edge to butt up against.
P-Bandai line up for the month has been revealed! mostly 1/144 and primarily Wing related BandaiHobby
Oh thank GOD - G05 and Extreme are not up for pre-order, it's just Mercutius/Vayate and the Geminass 02. I will admit it is extremely curious that the promotional image used there has it equipped with the Space Assault Armor, which could imply that this time around they're just flat out including the expansion armors instead of making it a separate option like what happened with the G01. May be a desire to make the 02 more desirable as something other than merely a Titans colored version of the G01. @SPLIT LIP pre-orders are going live at 9pm my time, offer still stands about nabbing that second set of Mercutius/Vayate for you since that is unquestionably going to be the hottest ticket item tonight so I need to make my move ASAP.
I decided to add some gray panel lines and a few decals to the figure to give it a little more contrast.
Well...damn, just redid my budget and factoring in some unexpected costs, I might actually have to skip the Mercutius and Vayate. I definitely will be getting the Geminass 02 to pair with my 01 but that's pushing things already, and with $400 worth of pre-orders for MMC figures likely next week, I really can't justify the extra $40 for the two-pack of suits that are neat but are ultimately passing curiosities to me since I never really got into Wing. This also means I absolutely will be skipping the orange Extreme as well given my need to be tighter with money.
Pre-orders are up and ultimately I did nab the Mercutius and Vayate set alongside the Geminass 02. Total expenditures this month will probably be about $600 but I can't help MMC TorTor being $200 bucks which is throwing the numbers way out of whack. The numbers are just super inflated because of MMC Tortor, Anarchus, and Cynicus next week and it's a one-time thing so if it wasn't for them I absolutely would be on budget anyway.
Is it just me, or are nearly all of those "exclusive" effect parts from the Last Shooting Zeong re-used from other kits?
You're not wrong. Most of the Last Shooting accessories, the base plate and the beam effect parts, were released as Builders Parts with 30MM kits. What is unique are the pink beams for the RG Rx-78 as well as the shoulder/neck stumps and fixed pose hand for holding its beam rifle.
And literally the entire Real Grade RX-78-2 kit, which is like $30. Going off USAGundamStore before their discount is applied, the actual normal price of the RG Zeong itself is $65 before shipping and tax. Last Shooting is $105 before shipping and tax. Thus, the beam effects and base parts are only $10 after accounting for both the Zeong and the RX-78-2. So, no, NOT BS.
Honest to go I'm having deja vu as to whether or not we've discussed if the RX-78-2 was included or not, with the consensus being it's not included
I thought it was implied that the Granddaddy wouldn’t be a part of the kit. But if it is, I retract by BS statement.
