I usually just watch baltmatrix, I lack the attention span for longer reviews, they aren't bad, I just seem to fast foreword through most of other transformer youtubers. I'm the kind of guy who usually buys shit I like, I rather just buy something instead of waiting on reviews. I usually just watch reviews for entertainment from channels like lazy eyebrow or thew.

I can understand this. I watch the reviews for the transformation. It can honestly make or break a figure for me. If the figure is a character I don't have, I'll ignore the bad transformation, but if it's a really crappy looking transformation (way too easy or way too hard) I might actually skip one. I've done it before.

    Responding a little late, regardless:

Peaugh, Vangelus (he hasn't been doing reviews of much lately, still doing his pod casts, though), and I've started watching Emgo316 and Baltmatrix more often.

Edit - I'm going to add Wotafa. Doesn't speak a lick of English in his reviews, but they are really fun to watch. You can tell he has a passion for what he is doing just from his presentation.

I was thinking about this the other day and, you know what, say what you will about buddy's craziness that can be a little irking at times, but Emgo is my go to reviewer.

He is technically solid with everything related to showing as much of the figure as possible including fan configurations for improved whatever, does what he can to show decent poses, has a very upbeat and seemingly sincere demeanor (doesn't seem like he edits too much within the flow of the entire video), and tends to cover a very wide variety of figures.

Only real issue is that his reviews aren't on the super early stage but I mean, that position for first, second, etc. is always changing anyway. Finally, JTI for when you really want that visual manual for going into both modes. Buddy is solid in my book and seems like he'd be fun to actually meet IRL when I eventually actually make it out to some sorta tf con.

Jobbythehong of course is awesome just for the pure entertainment factor. That David Kaye MP BW Megs vid was pretty awesome until I put it in m...

I wouldn't watch reviews for figures until I've actually bought them because it's so hard for me to find stuff out in the wild it seems pointless to get my hopes up for a purchase by watching a review when I'm likely to never find one to buy.

Although to be honest, even then I don't really care about video reviews unless I'm totally stuck transforming a new figure and need moving pictures to try and figure out where I'm going wrong.
I nearly always turn the sound down. Most video reviewers have irritating voices or just aren't very interesting or informative to listen to. I also don't care about flashy effects or animated introduction sequences. I'll skip through the video to whatever point I'm actually interested in. I don't want to sit through five minutes of somebody describing the packaging to me.

So yeah, video reviewers aren't really my bag unless I'm stuck on a transformation. I guess they have their place for other people. I'm not going to be swayed to buy or not buy something based on any reviewer's opinion of it.
I don't have any go-to reviewer either. I just Google the figure on YouTube and watch whatever video about it comes up first. If it doesn't have what I need then I go onto the next video.

Personally I prefer written reviews with nice clear photos. The fact there's apparently so much drama and ego around video reviewers makes me like them even less.

Lately I have really turned around on Emgo. I used to think that his reviews were somewhat cringy using the same worn out catchphrases but now I come to realize that those silly catchphrases and bad jokes show a distinct charm that so many other reviewers seem to lack. They just show the toy and run through the transformation with zero engagement with their audience.

Another reviewer I find insightful would be Bobby Skullface. I really enjoy when he compares figures of the same character by two different companies. It's a very comprehensive look at each figures and list each's pros and cons before giving his honest opinion.

    My own eyes.

If I like the looks of the figure, I buy.

I'm not so helpless as to not be able to fix a figure if it has a minor flaw.

Emgo mostly, baltmatrix and optibotimus sometimes.

The skits at the end of Emgo's reviews are absolutely hilarious. I've watched about 20 and there's not a dud in the bunch. I wish he'd put out a compilation of just those bits.

When I want to be informed, I usually go Peaugh or Baltmatrix.

When I want to be entertained, I go Vangelus or JobbytheHong.

But my favorite all-time reviewer? Thew, of Thew's Awesome Transformer Reviews.

Yeah, he falls more into the "entertainment" category than informative, but I love his stuff. More than once I've picked up an older figure I didn't know about on his recommendation (guys like RID Dreadwind and Smokescreen, Universe Dropshot, or PCC Grimstone), and ended up loving them.

I usually just watch emgo's videos first for anything that I'm interested in, I get to look and judge the toy for myself and get entertainment out his videos.

I even watched most of his Cyberverse videos even though I don't collect Cyberverse because he makes them entertaining.

Peaugh if I just want a straight-forward, no fuss look at a figure.

I've been subbed to him, Vangelus, and Thew for some 10 years now.

I hunted down and bought Energon Omega Supreme almost 90% because of Thew.

Emgo I like because he'll always scale the figures against others in his collection so I get a good idea of the size of a bot I'm interested in.
