Oh, yeah. Ball joints don't bother me at all, but I know they bug some people and MST tends to use those more. I can totally see that.

But that's joint type, not articulation. And ball joints are more poseable than pin joints. :)

Ankles, knees, wrists, elbows, waists, hips, ball jointed heads, and ab crunches are basically standard on modern 3rd party Legends, whether they're IF, MST, or NA. That's a good thing to know if somebody is wanting to expand outside of their preferred company.

Ooh... I did, amidst the sea of seeker options. This would be upsized wouldn’t it? Now if they did Coneheads as well, I’m going to replace my entire Legends seeker squad!

Glad to help! And yes, they're upscaled, so probably a similar height to the MFT DX9 version.

One of my very best friends only collects + when it comes to Legends. He's a big fan of the Jinbao OSKO of NA Megatron, so it's looking like they'll be similar quality.

Sounds good. I recently went totally ballistic on Legends. Accumulated about 30 figs in a span of 2 weeks. Quite happy with my JinBao Megs, but not so much with the Prime. There’s something nostalgic about the simple transformations and the G1 styling.

I'm totally new to Legends, and so I feel equally uneducated: nonetheless, that's one major reason why I started off with Magic Square. Every single figure I've got so far - after a lot of comparing - I genuinely liked their version the best... Even with Bluestreak, which I learned it isn't especially well-regarded, here, in the end I preferred the MST one overall.
I'm only a bit skeptical about Sideswipe and Red Alert: all in all, I dig the MFT oversized molds quite a bit more, but at the moment they would look absolutely out of place/scale in my collection. I'm waiting for them to arrive, so I'll update my feedback once I got them in my hands.

    That said...
...yeah, I can already see myself expanding to other companies, once I feel like my MST display is comprehensive enough.

Yeah, Jinbao is currently the best option for a Legends+ Optimus, but it looks a bit dated next to the OSKO of NA Megatron. They're probably going to make a new version eventually, though.

You really can't go wrong with any of the current big contenders with Legends. :D

The main thing to watch out for when mixing and matching between the companies is that they use different scales. It's made a bit muddied by NA and MST Optimus and Megatron being about the same sizes. :lol

MST scales around something closer to the comics or the Transformers Devastation video game, whereas NA is more consistent with the Masterpiece \ Sunbow scale chart.

So, while NA's Optimus is the same height as MST's Optimus, NA has shorter car bots and MST has taller car bots. MST Soundwave and the Seekers are about as tall as both MST and NA Megatron, but NA has them shorter.

And that's really only if you care about scale. I like to go with whatever I think looks good, which tends to be the sizes NA uses. I like bigger Dinobots, Ultra Magnus, Blitzwing, and Astrotrain, so I prefer MFT on those.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the MST Datsun mold. Arms and legs are quite clever. Need to stiffen up the door wings a bit though.

They're going to be quite a bit taller. ShowZStore.com has them listed as 12.5cm / 4.92". That's not always accurate, but they're OSKO so they're going to be bigger than the NA versions, which are about a head taller than the IF versions.

If you want a visual comparison, @ph4zed did a post showing IF, DX9, and NA. There's a slight waist gap on the NA Starscream there, but that's fixed by clicking the torso in the rest of the way.

I use that for omega soon too. Though now I'm chasing over to a g2ish collection. But I might still keep it, best colour scheme imo
Anyone got New Age Soundwave? Thoughts?

i hope this is true as i only picked up the KO late and even though it's far from being the best quality, it shows i really need to pick up the original newage. :(
looks like you might be able to still pick it up on eBay…

i have both and i dont think you are missing out on anything by having the "ko".

i think the differences are negligible at best. i have to tip my hat towards the "ko" because he at least came with the jetpack and stuff that NA bee was lacking.

i agree that UI did a decent job of KO'ing NA Bee, so much better than the trash Jazz they did. but having this KO for quite sometime now, this Bee has has really grown on me, i now think NA did a fantastic job and i was skeptical in the beginning with even wanting this Bee. so because i love this mold so much now, i'm sure there's a significant enough difference to make it worth the upgrade to the original NA if i can. i think the KO plastic quality, tolerance and overall fit/finish isn't as good compared to any of the true NA bots i have in my collection.
