Damn it's like they're really hammering in that we're gonna get a toy version of this thing

Seriously though I think it'd be sacrosanct not to go through with that. They literally have the framework going for them.

You know... Now that I think about it... Hope someone makes a voice thingy for this guy. Not sure how it would be implemented, but it would be nice. Just saying.

Well, after some deliberations, I'm in. I think he looks incredible. I was never fully happy with my MP11s, other than the SW and TC variants (those two are awesome and I'll never sell them). The coneheads were a swing and a miss as well, but this might mean they'll eventually get a decent release. I don't see that happening for some time.

There will be a day when even the almighty MP46 wull be replaced, and to be honest, as much as I love him, I'd be more stoked for that than I was MP44. Can you imagine Meagtron with the polished cartoon aesthetic of this Starscream?

    For anyone complaining about price:

Mp-11 on release from US etailers: $226.72
MP-52 on release from US etailers: $264.99

that’s an approximately 17% price increase.

Compare that to a deluxe then $14.73 and now $22.99 at a 56% price increase.

2012 prices have been adjusted for inflation.

Then consider that the MP line has increased in parts count and paint while the main line has done the opposite, as well as shrinking in overall size.

where did you get $226 from? I tried to find it, retail price for MP11 seem to be 13000 yen, with discounts Japanese retailers had it around 10000 yen for preorder in 2012. was US etailers charging huge markup back then?

Mp-11 Screamer was $199.99 from BBTS on release. That was before ordering from overseas was really the norm for MP collectors, so US etailers used to mark them up a lot more. If I remember right the likes of MP-12 could be had for something like 5,300 yen but cost $79.99 in the US.

ok. I was in the wait for Hasbro MP release camp back then since it's usually way cheaper and it was Hasbro version of mp11 was like $60.

    lol!

I figured your MP-11 pricing was from bbts or some hk outfit.

Btw, ordering MPs overseas were already the norm way back even during Binaltech days.

Almost all were on the HLJ import train back then. The infamous MP-5 cosmic rust and orange cap from HLJ were during those fun old days!

fwiw, can't find hlj's old stuff, but here are hobbylog and ami historical mp-11 pricings:

Yeah, the Takara releases were generally about that much. I remember the reissue being about $140 - $160ish USD from US retailers.

Maybe try an online inflation calculator to really get the cost comparisons these passed decade or so.

That wasn’t my observation back then but still, I’m comparing the BBTS price from back then to the BBTS price now, as that’s what people on these sites live to complain about. If you want to compare direct from Japan prices:

MP-11: $157.96 when adjusted for inflation
    MP-52: $265.95

68% increase. Still you have to again take into account that deluxes have seen a 56% increase while DECREASING in quality, while MPs have increased in all the ways that make a figure more expensive.
