Actually, the alt mode does appear in the story mode very briefly when he escapes from cliffjumper and Jazz:

Yeah, one of those rare instances where the Hasbro Figure actually works better with the PX Vulcan, IMO at least.

Not to detract from the detail in bot mode here, but definitely out of scale for me in anything other than some solo Shockwave love or as an IDW specific display. Actually, for the scale, definitely fits better with IDW than FOC.

I'm glad I'm not a scale nut.lol. Growing up with g1, beast wars ect.... its a nice bonus for me but not a necessity.

Hasbro scale seems right for those concerned with Scale options in displays. Otherwise, this new PX is just a damn good Shockwave in general IMO. I like it, will pick one up.

Awww... the scale is all off. Not putting this guy anywhere near my PX dinobots. At least not unless PX wants to release upscaled versions of their dinobots (my dream). Maybe I'll buy this Shockwave if it fits in my IDW collection.

Do we think he's too big or is Grim too small? Could anyone get comparisons to other figures?

You could also play as him in some stages of the Cybertron parts of Rise of the Dark Spark which used the same FOC character models.

General consensus is Grimlock is too small. The group shot of FOC characters has him huge, closer to Bruticus than other characters.

I hope there's a "fan" mode that makes his alt mode look better.

More accurate size chart (pic above has Grimlock upto Bruticus' neck. This one below puts him at about Bruticus' waist).

That's cool! Would love to see more characters on here and less dynamic poses. Grimlock and Bruticus squatting puts them much shorter than they would be I imagine

I think Grimlock is too small. I suspect when Planet X started putting out their Dinobots they were meant to scale with Hasbro's existing Fall of Cybertron figures. You can see if if you put the other PX dinos with Hasbro's Grimlock.

They made Vulcan a little taller, but I guess they were worried about making him too much bigger than the others. But then they started putting out everyone else around a head shorter than Grimlock.

Oh Grimlock is way too small. This Shockwave scales more with their non-Dinobot figures. It's stupid that people are saying that this is an issue with Shockwave and not with Grimlock

And man, I really hope that this is a mostly unpainted proto and that the final version has the silver details that it should

On one hand I’ve always liked the design and the mold looks good. On the other hand he’s lacking in the paint department, and the company’s track record of shotty QC has turned me off to their products as of now. I think I’ll wait for a review before I make my final decision on him.

Since when; I understood that their Star Saber was iffy, as were their Insecticons, but that was it.

Star Saber was fine I thought. Since when? Since their Megatron. That mould is known to break. And then if you go to the Ratchet/Ironhide thread, people have reported breakages too. Seems they are now sharing plastics with XTB, the cheesy kind ;)

The Megatron in particular is what’s caused me to worry, and I have heard about the Ironhide/Ratchet issues that are mentioned above too. I should’ve said recent releases, because from the 2 early figures I own they hold up pretty well.
