I had this one too! Except mine had the toy-accurate face with the yellow visor.

Sure the plastic was cheap, but overall this was a rather nice-looking replica. I really liked the OS Laserbeak. Too bad they simplified Ravage.

The KO thread isn't my problem report system   but yeah I've noticed on a few orders that if it doesn't work one way then they try another way and assign a new tracking number. I wonder if it's just a lack of flights (parcels are flying standby lol) so for the smallest problem parcels are set aside as an excuse to make room on flights and to squeeze more money out of sellers. It'll get there just need to be patient.

Yeah, G1 Ravage's little articulated paws are one of the most beautiful things in Transformers history!  

The shipping prices going up are not my real worry... it's unfortunate, but at least it's a predictable expense.

I'm more concerned that things of a certain weight apparently can't be shipped. Or that new customs practices might result in packages getting arbitrarily seized or rejected before they even leave China.

So far, we mostly have rumours and isolated reports, but it would be useful to get a better idea of what to expect. I'm hoping we can get some more concrete news regarding these questions soon.

No, but even if we're a bunch of whiners and hypocrites, we're still a community of sorts, so it's nice when we can share info and help each other out, right?  

If that's the situation and it's just more delays, that's totally understandable.

I don't count the days or even check my tracking most of the time. If I know my stuff is going to get here eventually, I don't stress about waiting a bit longer.

I think the crackdown and rumours of customs seizures just make people more anxious than they would be normally (which is fair).

To anybody who might be concerned that what I had posted about my SirToys shipment indicates a crackdown of some kind, that is not the case. China Post told me it was likely something with batteries. I spoke with @SirToys and we figure it's the remote control snake in the order (sad, I really wanted to see how the cats reacted to that!).

In any case, thanks in advance to Paul for keeping his eyes open for the returned package now that we know it's been sent back for sure.

Not a terrible figure, but an awfully weird one. At least I know I've got an evil Bumble-Megatron figure on the shelf if the need ever arises.

 

@bakerjin & @The Happenin Rhinoceros: Dunno if this is something we/you had a part in or just Baader-Meinhof, but did you notice the news? Via both DaimChoc Reports and TransFans (originally on Weibo but I don't frequent there or have a link to the original), it would seem that GT-2 Tyrant is getting a re-issue with either modified or alternate wing tips/cannon pieces and an effect part. ETA December, under 500元 (domestic, anyway, so probably around Op.EX's US$100). I'm just hoping that "Transparent Black" is a mistranslation on Google's part... don't care for transparent figures (the pictures look opaque, though, which is good).

I shall strive not to miss out this time! Almost considering pre-ordering... 'cept no-one seems to have it up for such.

 

Well...color me interested! That certainly looks opaque. If it is, I might be in for that. Transparent...definitely not. Not my cup of tea, and too fragile in my experience.

 

Dunno about fragile (many plastics are actually translucent in their "natural" form) but yeah, agree about the style. A word-for-word translation doesn't really help either: "match colour for through bright black". "Through bright" becomes "transparent" and "match colour" becomes "colour scheme". Unless there's an implied "and" there, meaning it's transparent [purple] and black like the original?

Guess we'll find out if/when retailers start showing anything.

 

Yeah I saw that yesterday - pretty neat! I'm tempted to get it even though I have the original mold as the wing tip/cannon does look a bit nicer haha. Guess I'll wait and see if they make any other improvements! I shouldn't be too surprised, as Generation Toy LOVE their remolds - OPEX got an IDW/G1 Hybrid color scheme (which I have), Gorilla got the White Gorilla treatment, their Gravity Builder has like 50 recolors and even their Menasor is getting a Chrome version later. Good to see Tyrant getting some love.

 

I've got the Optimus version and it's good for what it is. If only the head could turn though...

Is it a cheaper KO version?

 

Nah I think a Generation Toy re-release, so it should be the same price as the original. No Daban KO yet.
