I sometimes look at pictures of Windblade just to try and see if I'm able to identify which one I'm looking at, barring the animation style that she appears in. The only thing I can really point out is that RiD WB has no nose.

 

I think that's just the art style... cause no one does...

Also... Cyberverse Windblade has the ability to retract her wings so you can't see them. She only deploys them when flying in robot mode... or when attacking with he fan blades that can launch out of the wings. But yeah... it's mostly just a change in art style not really anything new about the design.

 

That's why I really want recognizable yet inventive redesigns. We've gotten the main G1 cast with slight tweaks in the past few years, which is why I want to get more obscure G1 and non G1 characters as well as any more prominent G1 characters being redesigned. My philosophy is that someone like Optimus can have a more creative reinvention because we've seen him so much, while somebody like Sixshot hasn't gotten very many appearances so seeing him in any capacity would be awesome.

 

Less G1, more RiD01. At least for RiD's 20th anniversary.

Obviously, TF is gonna have its mainstays, its a fact of reality, but I have two suggestions for how to handle characters:

The first Idea The G1 and Cyberverse Method. This method is also the "Fuck it, we'll take them all" method where you just have a ton of characters hanging around and them getting an episode to shine while playing background for the rest of the show.


My second idea is what I like to call "The Bulkhead method". For those with a sharp memory, From 2007 to 2015, outside of the movies, Bulkhead was a mainstay in the Transformers cast until RID15 was over. Since then, Bulkhead has been total MIA. The idea would be giving a couple of characters some mainstay presence and then cycling them out for other characters.

I personally prefer the former, but that's just me.

 

Funny you should mention Six Shot...

... and you should mention RID2001.

One thing I was disappointed about with Titans Return Sixshot is that he's still so blocky. The animation model is a much more sleeked down design. The car looks more like a car instead of a box on wheels. The beast mode looks a HELL of a lot nicer than the toy, and I thought with how well RID2001 Megatron/Galvatron/Devil Gigatron whatever you want to call him did with ten modes and making them without being a bunch of folding boxes... I thought a modern Sixshot was going to be updated in that way so he's still recognizable as Sixshot but his six modes actually look good but instead we got more folding boxes but with articulation.

I don't really expect him to have rounded parts like Car Robots Gigatron but some where between that and the boxy G1 toy... like his animation model would be really nice. I think there's a third party figure that pulled this off really nicely but the official figure is kind of a let down. Sixshot could easily replace that mold as my favorite Transformers figure, cause I'm not a huge fan of those "ears" or whatever they are on the head sculpt. But that's a minor complaint compared to Sixshot being a bunch of boxes that fold to form other boxes that vaguely resemble different modes.

Why Hasbro has not adopted this idea is beyond me. Bulkhead was one of those characters who was good but they didn't over do it. The concept is good so that way fan favorite characters can get more time to shine and overall do better. The sooner they start doing something like this the better.

Totally wish they did that to characters like Knock-out, I want to see more of that guy and his banter. I really wished they did this with more of the prime characters.

 

More of...

-Minicons. They don't need to even beep or speak binary, they could just be all about body language this time.

-O.R.I.D Characters. Send in the Spychangers, they had a neat group dynamic of being a group of hi-tech cyber-ninjas. Bring back the Predacon Trio of Gas-Skunk, Darkscream & Slapper so they could goof about and do what wacky henchmen do, Heck, They could bring a lot of those characters back. Heck, Bring Kelly back, i miss Kelly.

-Unicron Trilogy Characters. I would love to see characters like Armada Hot Shot, Armada Red Alert, Cybertron Scattershot/Backguild, Demolishor, Armada Cyclonus, and a few well known characters of the series.

-Sky-Byte being a solo act. Like that's what kinda bothers me about that, the thing most people remember Sky-Byte would be being a haiku poet, but he also was a haiku poet who had to live under one roof (Inside a underwater lair mind you) with three predacon stooges & a very easily angered Emperor of destruction. I really missed this old-school shredder dynamic of him being the smart one of the group of goofy minions, and being bossed around by Giga/Megatron.

-The Always Serious, Stoic, Epic Optimus Prime. Like, i know modern Prime's don't party cuz' of a certain movie, but it be kinda nice to have a Optimus who isn't afraid to go ham or have a nice dad moment. Heck, i would love him to pull a TMNT 2012 Leonardo where there's a running gag where he has a favorite show to watch. Like this would be a great way to implement a "Retro-styled" Diaclone Show within the show that has lots of super robot and early 80's sci-fi tropes with lots of anime influence thrown in. Heck Optimus would quote the show from time to time before he gets to do the iconic lines he is known for. You can still make him do the usual epic speech, but make him have a few quirky moments with him.

 

I'm thinking of putting a scene where Optimus and Ironhide are having an arm-wrestling match.

 

I honestly can’t think of a single character that I personally feel needs to have their appearances significantly reduced but I would like to see less reliance on the same old core ‘84 cast.

I would like to see Spanner and Scrounge return, and some actual back story for the Monsterbots and Deluxe
Insecticons. IDW teased us with the Monsterbots in Maximum Dinobots but the Deluxe Insecticons were basically crowd fillers. I also want more of the Japanese Combiners, Liokaiser, Road Caesar, Raiden and Landcross.

 

I'd love to see more of Star Saber, but only if he's given a major role, if not on par with Optimus Prime, at least close. Same for Fortress Maximus.
I can definitely do with a lot less Bumblebee.

 

Anyone else wishes the Decepticlones had been used for more than the 2004 game? They were so varied, intelligent and overwhelming they would make for an amazing army of evil drones, more fearsome than the Vehicons from BM and less morally effed up than those from Prime.

 

Those would make some awesome weaponizers/modulators. Or at least some good additions in the R.E.D Line.
