Obviously, the multiplayer in every console and PC Transformers game from Revenge of the Fallen onwards has been shutdown or decommissioned. But I'm wondering that if someday, that'll change. A number of PS2 games to this day like Star Wars Battlefront and Tony Hawk have alternative servers that can be connected to with an alternative DNS, and, while I'm pretty sure PS3 and Xbox 360 games work differently, there are various projects to provide alternatives to old servers for original Xbox games like Project Insignia. I'm wondering if such a thing can be done with the PS3 and Xbox 360 games?
God I would LOVE to play Rotf multiplayer again... so many memories. I am really sad that you can't host your own servers like Counter-Strike/Half-Life games. That would definitely guarantee at least one community to stay alive.
I really miss being able to play the MP on War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. I have fond memories of playing the Conquest and Escalation modes, with and without friends.
I'm JUST learning about the server shut down for these games. I'm gutted. Admittinly, I haven't played in forever, but nonetheless, Fall of Cybertron is what ignited the fire for me back in '12. I owe all of my hobby today to that game. Ugh. Would've loved to play some more MP of that game again. I logged some insane hours playing that when it came out, and into the next couple of years. So if I were to go back and play the campaign of either WFC or FOC, which would you suggest? It's been so long that either would be like playing it all over again. Which aged better and tells a better story?
No you can mod WFC to play escalation offline. In fact modding WFC is actually perhaps more fun than playing WFC online as your able to play as the soldier classes and also you can customise all the colours of your character to a greater degree than in the actual multiplayer
