Seriously, the WFC Trilogy Micromasters are so fun, and after only having Airwave and Ironworks for a day I already want more to make a city. This is SUCH a cool and engaging concept and is honestly a great addition to Transformers, and plays with the already crazy sense of scale you get playing with them.

Honestly, my only real complaint overall is that there should be more. More of the deluxe Modulators, maybe even branch the concept out to Voyagers and Leaders. Give us more of the little ramp guys or even a “highway multipack” of repaints of all of them like that elusive Micromaster multipack I regret not picking up now that I’ve drank the Micromaster Kool-Aid. Hell, give us more Micromasters ! I don’t care if they have to make new ones up I’ll buy them. I would LOVE a Micromaster 84’ G1 lineup, where it’s just Micromaster versions of the 84’ Autobot/Decepticon lineups.

Look man - I’m just happy Modulators exist and I’m sad to see them go knowing they probably won’t go forward with this play pattern anymore. Fossilizers look cool too, but the Modulator gimmick is just too much fun to only be for two waves.

    *nods*

Godbomber, Victory Leo, Armada Overload, Orcanoch, Arachnid.

You could do the four Micromaster trailers as modular trailers with bot modes mixed in.

    So much potential.

Modulators dying means that Fossilizers are coming, so I salute their passing but have no interest in seeing more of them.

I’d rather the modulators we’re full on Titan size. A transformer that transforms into an airport, a gas station, a fire house .

100% agree. I was so excited for ER for this very reason But found out they only halfed the idea. The mythical white Ironworks and many more I hope eventually come to life!

I would buy every single modulator we get, Micromaster bases has been the biggest highlight of WFC for me thus far.

I’m much more interested in the new Fossilizers over ANY of the modulators. I never cared for the “micro play” pattern of the MMs, why where they tiny cars? (Other than riding the popularity of Micro Machines and other “tiny play” toys coming out in the late 80’s early 90’s.)

Transforming robot Tyrannosaurus skeleton > a slab with a hook.

DUDE could you imagine an entire titan-price point modulator city? Like with buildings that all combine into a giant robot or even turn into individual robots? It would be a departure but I’d love to see it

I try not to question why they were tiny cars (going back to that idea I had about Micromaster versions of the 84 roster, I always saw it as the micromasters were actually just in normal scale and the bases were just big robots), but for the most part in my mind they’re some offshoot. At the end of the day it’s mostly just “they’re toys and it’s fun”. I never thought I’d be into the “micro play” thing either but once I started picking some up I got hooked.

And to be fair, the fossilizers look AWESOME and is exactly the kind of wholly original totally insane idea Hasbro needed to impart into TF’s. But it’s a shame to see them abandon the MM concept so quickly, and I know they’ll do it with the Fossilizers too.

They’re not for me, I don’t really understand the appeal of playsets and the modulators look even worse than the weaponizers as ‘armor’.

As a result of this I’m confident in saying Ironworks is probably the worst deluxe I’ve bought in the last 13 years.

Fossilizers though? Those I’m all about. A unique looking robot with a proper alt mode and parts that look like armor and weapons instead of just rectangles and panels. So if the death of Modulators means the survival of Fossilizers then I’m happy to wave them off.

They were a just smaller sized robots who lived on another planet. They were small so their alt modes where small.

I hope they update all the Micromaster trailers/bases as Modulators. Maybe we could also finally get a Signal Lancer!

Yup, I’ve enjoyed the Modulators much more than I expected to (though I should have predicted it, given how much I’ve always liked the G1 Micromaster bases).

I think I’ve also enjoyed the Micromasters themselves more than a lot of folks (at least going by what I’ve read on the boards). My only complaints about them are common issues with shoulder clearance and with hip joints that always pop off (I think they should have gone with a G1-style metal pin at the hips, since it’s not like the ball joints offer much swivel anyway).

I too wish they’d stick with the play pattern for a bit and round out the teams more.

I truly enjoy the Modulators and will miss the playability they offer.
The new Fossilizers look decent on their own, but a robot wearing a skeleton? Yeah, no thanks. Way too unnatural for me to be excited about.

Why can't Modulators just be it's own property.

Doesn't even need to be under the Transformers brand honestly. :)

there's enough potential there for tons of cross compatibility for all sorts of different concepts of things.

Remember that time when everyone said “yeah, we want a second year of Combiner Wars molds” only to say “OH NO” We clearly haven’t learnt from our mistakes.

I do agree though, they did too little with modulators (Fasttrack doesn’t even count because the whole reason he can with a port if due to him originally planned to be bundled with Scorpanok), but sometimes moderation is better than over-consumption.

I would say anything in the weaponizer/modulator/fossilizer line should continue.
