I mean can we really be sure of anything since apparently Kingdom is just excluding two of the more crucial characters?

I'm wondering now if the Kingdom G1 releases will be repainted or remolded or something and added to SS86 for 2022!

Unless they're fixing a problem the previous version had. I'd prefer they do characters they haven't done yet or supposedly not doing for 2021 like Blaster and Perceptor.

    Fair point on Evasion Prime

Huh? A line with a definite end date (Kingdom) excluding some characters is different from a line that is open ended (Studio Series) having characters left to do. One has a finite number of open spots availble, the other has a finite number of open spots available per year. They're not exactly equivalent in that regard

Well that's depressing. But I guess they gotta make sure every ugly, characterless thing gets a proper toy made. How terrible it'd be if we didn't get yet another variation of movie Megatron or Bumblebee.

The fact that an overpriced mistake seems to be getting more attention than Beast Wars probably isn't the greatest thing to signal to fans.

To be fair, it's not like Kingdom is the end of Generations, it's just the end of WFC. Any characters prominent characters left to do (like the 3 missing Predacons for example) are bound to get a release before long.

No worries at all. Here are who I would consider the remaining important characters to cover in Studio Series (I am not including the leaked next wave, which includes Grindor, Dino and Jolt) -

    1. Skids
    2. Mudflap
    3. The Fallen
    4. Wheeljack / Que
    5. DOTM Bumblebee
    6. Dinobot Scorn
    7. Dinobot Slug
    8. Dinobot Strafe
    9. Galvatron
    10. Hound
    11. Crosshairs
    12. Hot Rod

And these are a few "nice to haves" that are absolutely not big names, but I think deserve a SS figure:
    - Demolishor (easy repaint)
    - Sideways (a very minor character, but would ultimately be the only robot from ROTF NOT to get a figure at that point)
    - Hatchet (they did 2/3 of his team, why not complete it?)
    - TLK Barricade (first version was so bizarre)

I have long been of the mindset that several TLK figures work just fine for Studio Series so I'm not clamoring for most of those (Optimus, Megatron, Nitro Zeus and Bumblebee come to mind). So I usually leave those off my list. Some, like Hot Rod and Barricade, could absolutely use an update, though.

Yeah, if Drift doesn't get a car mode figure then not a huge deal considering they nailed his bot mode with the helicopter version.

I agree on TLK Prime - and ironically he actually IS AOE Prime because his forearms are from AOE from before he got his upgrade at the end of the film. He doesn't have those forearms in the TLK film.

I had all three Omnibots as a kid, and I loved them. I always treated them like Tracks with their “3rd modes”. I hope when they get their chance to shine, Hasbro doesn’t forget what makes them special. If Tracks gets his flight mode, then the Omnibots deserve theirs.

Personally, I don't count 3p figures in discussions like this, but if I did Hegemon is a bit too large compared to WFC/SS86 figures and looks a bit out of place among them. Granted that's just my opinion, if you think he is perfect then that's a hole filled in your collection :)

Don't one of the white ones share a VERY close silhouette to Tracks?

I think it’s Downshift who does, yeah.
I’ll take new versions of all 3 Omnibots.

When Tracks comes out I hope they give him his original package art face, with the mouthplate.
Otherwise, I’ll take a repaint with it, ala Loudpetal. :D

Last time I heard, GPS isn't a thing any more. Don't they use a better formula for gold & other metallic plastic?

Neither the Constructicons nor Devastator are movie accurate though, despite Devastator being in scale.

GPS isn't restricted to gold plastic, I wish people would get that through their heads. It's metallic flake plastic that has the problem, when they mix metal pieces into the plastic it weakens the overall plastic strength. It has nothing to do with it's color. One of the most recent examples of this is Unite Warriors Motormaster, who had an issue with his waist crumbling.

    Pretty much.

Didn't know that UW Motormaster was suffering from GPS though. Yikes. I guess they're still using that plastic formula after all. =(
