IDW because they were barely in the overall story and kept to themselves mostly. I mean really, what was there besides the Wreckers trilogy and them kinda-sorta being in AHM? That worked out well. Everything else that uses them treats them like they're the greatest thing ever and it just comes off as tryhard and edgy, like Prime making every third character a Wrecker.
Personally, I would have to pick the 3H Wreckers. I honestly liked that take, though that could mainly be because Rodimus was in charge of them, though I also did like the fact that we got quite a few rare characters in it. The problem I have with the Wreckers is that: 1) Most of the stories revolve around Springer, who IMO is the single worst character in the whole G1 continuity (I know everyone says it's Wheelie, but for me, it's Springer). I just never liked the guy, he's just lame jokes and one-liners and nothing else. 2) They always feel more like an afterthought than a real well-established team. So yeah, as you can see, I really have mixed feelings about the Wreckers.
The list is missing Dreamwave and 3H Productions I'd say: IDW 2005 (best writing+art) Marvel UK (points for originality) All the rest TF Prime (Bulkhead and Wheeljack? Really?)
I voted Prime because honestly that and Dark of the Moon are the only two continuities I even know the Wreckers from and I hate the live action films.
I like the Marvel UK Wreckers the best simply because of how un-prestigious the lineup was. With the possible exception of Springer, everybody else on the team was either a C lister or a D lister. The idea that these nobodies were supposed to be these secret super soldiers didn't make much sense to me. But that's what made them so great in my eyes! The obscurity of the team members really gave me the impression that these guys were not really the best of the best, but rather, the best the Autobots had on hand at the time, which added an extra element of desperation to the Autobots' situation.
The Wreckers was a thing IDW actually got right, although part of the reason is that The Wreckers came before MTMTE rolled around.
