This first post will serve as a growing index of the available products and the subsequent posts will have reviews of the products. Please feel free to add your own reviews of any kit that you have purchased. Try to include who made it, where you bought it and the cost.

07 Movie Chest Upgrade Kit

DOTM Upgrade Kit
Available from Dino Model Shop on Instagram or Facebook for $65. Kit includes DOTM abs, sternum piece, sideview mirrors, knuckle dusters, and ROTF hooks.

Leafage Head Upgrade Kit V1

Leafage Head Upgrade Kit V2
A bigger version of the V1 head. It is not able to transform. Costs $80. Available from Capcomkai and Dino Model Shop on Instagram and Facebook.

ROTF Big Bullet
The slug (big bullet) that Optimus shot Megatron with in the pre-forest battle fight. Designed by @Megawillbot and available on shapeways. The cost depends on your printing specifications but figure around $7-$10.

I'll start this off with GYToys BFG. It can be bought from Dino Model Shop on Instagram for around $55. It arrives in a tin box with foam inserts for protection.




















The gun is held in Prime's hand with friction.




Overall I like it. I think the flame job is too bright when compared to the onscreen cgi but it still works fine.

 

Here’s my BA Prime with the WMW studios head via DMS. This one is 3D printed and hand painted and is too big to transform but it looks amazing. Came with a neck plate that broke apart the first time I transformed the figure with it on cause that was also 3D printed, so I tore the original head off the original neck plate and it works fine with that now.

Hey @artimus prime the big gun that you got from DMS is held in by friction and it really stays well? I've had bad experiences with other 3D printed guns that don't really stay cause they don't have pegs.

I would also like to add as a general point on this thread that many of the items that Dino Model Shop has for sale are also available from Capcomkai as well. Sometimes stock and prices differ between the two but they usually cover similar bases and seem to have many of the same contacts.

 

Yes. The BFG stays in Prime's hands surprisingly well. It's more because the fingers are well toleranced.

 

would adding the mods to this tread be an idea as well?
would be great to have an overview of those as well.

 

Not sure on that one. The mods would probably need their own thread in the radicon section since they're not a product that can be bought and reviewed.

So @artimus prime which of the upgrades would you deem to be "essential" of the parts you own? I currently only have a larger head, and to me that feels essential at this point. So much more character and accuracy in the new head, and the new proportions feel so much more right. Mine is the first wave WMW head, BTW.

 

Quick review of the 07 movie kit. It's a pretty simple kit, having only the sternum piece and sideview mirrors.



I didn't use the sideview mirrors since the stock mirrors look fine.





Installation is simply plugging in the sternum piece in front of the original sternum.





@Shmoptimus Prime I only think that the bigger head is truly necessary.

 

Sigh, wish I could somehow get a hold of the Leafage V1 head. Shame they stopped making them

 

What’s the difference between the V1 and V2? I’m curious because I currently have V2 preordered from DMS.

 

The V1 is smaller and transformable. The V2 is bigger and thus not transformable without taking it off.

 

Well this sucks... I guess I'll think about getting the leafage v2.

 

No!!! I'm so sorry that happened   I dropped my WMW head three times and the only part that chipped was the "eyebrow" part a little.

 

So I just got this guy in and made a small modification to the chest that allows it to lie more flush with the inner chest. Still waiting on the Leafage head and other upgrade kit but not sure I’ll want to insert the chest piece.
