I keep forgetting that Go Shooter was painted different from Siren.   Probably because I've never really watched Masterforce honestly.

 

Masterforce IMO was the best of the JG1 series, and I could totally see the cast being repaints in Selects.

 

It would make sense to do the 4 they revealed for wave one. Then Skulllkruncher, Weirdwolf, High Brow for wave 2. Idk why counterpunch is there

 

Probably to round out the wave with 1 more Prime Wars figure of a 1987-onwards character they felt was good enough already and just need to reissue, is my guess.

 

This! Who da EF greenlit the use of those rubbery wings of his (mine is the Legends version)?!  Sheeeeze! I mean was it for safety? They could have designed the wings similar to the OG MIndwipe(which I own and still solid as a rock). That rubber I fear will disintegrate s few years from now. 

 

In all fairness some of the threads should probably have been merged, but I guess the mods couldn't handle beasts mixing with bots?

 

They're aiming for evenly packed waves of 4 characters so somebody has to pack it out. Two different heads is at least related to the Headmasters gimmick.

 

Plus potp punch goes for crazy on the aftermarket hasbro wants some of those sales

 

I'm rather surprised we only ever got Nightbeat's head and not the rest of his body. Would we have to settle with a recolor of Chromedome's body?

Assuming that actually happens, hopefully SG is based on the God Ginrai gift set and has heel pieces that click into place.

 

If they had released him back in Titans Return, that's almost certainly what we would have ended up with. Thankfully they didn't and we will hopefully get something better than just blue and yellow Chromedome.

 

If they wanted to milk it, they could release Hosehead in red and gray (like the vintage toy) and then release Cab in red and white (like he was in the Masterforce cartoon).

 

That’s why I said the toys. I would totally get both if they did that. However, I don’t see Hasbro doing that, even for Selects. (Though they seem to have no problem releasing Hound or Red Alert again in the Netflix line with just “more battle damage” so anything is possible)

For Siren, they can even take it a step further and give him a Marvel accurate head (since I would hope Nightbeat would do the same) since he and Nightbeat had their heads swapped in the comics.

 

I'm actually kind of worried about how they would handle Nightbeat and Minerva. If they make the design bulky for Nightbeat, then a chunky Minerva repaint won't look right. If they make the design slender for Minerva, a thin Nightbeat repaint won't look right. While the G1 toy was kind of in the middle, I'm not sure a middle compromise would look good in the modern line. Ideally, I would love if Hasbro/Takara designed the figure so that the car shell was the same, but the robot parts were slightly different to give Nightbeat a thicker frame and Minerva a thinner frame and different heads of course. But that might be too much to ask for.

 

I think a remold to slim Minerva down/bulk Nightbeat up is definitely possible. We've seen that before in molds that cross gender. I'm hoping to see Kingdom Blackarachnia remolded into a nice Tarantulas!

I'd like to see all the Headmaster Jrs have youthful character design like we saw in Masterforce, slightly smaller builds, to reflect the fact that they're piloted by teenagers!

 

I might be a simp for saying this, but I actually prefer Nightbeat with a visor.
