Unicron Trilogy

 

Time for all the people who complain about HasTak only focusing on g1 to start voting with their wallets.

Really hope Kingdom does well. As much as I like g1, I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to the whole 50/50 situation going on with kingdom. Half g1 and half something new.

 

I’m a child of the 80s. So g1 holds a big candle for my heart. But I did collect a lot of other lines. I’m really happy kingdom is doing beast wars and honestly there aren’t that many US G1 characters from the cartoon i even want a new figure of. Just a good rodimus prime. I’d love to see more figures from
Master force or victory or g2 or UK. I would adore a year of beast machines but I am the only person who likes beast machines. If they redid the unicron trilogy.... especially armada I would buy that. I hate the animated aesthetic but if there was a few animated characters made in CHUG aesthetic I’d get it.

 

I've preordered all of the Fossilizers and BW characters the moment the preorders for them came up. I'm already doing my part in voting with my wallet.

 

 

Well, I know a good chunk of us were ecstatic about that Armada Prime prototype and had a heart attack when it sounded like it was getting canned.

But if the fate of seeing Armada Prime and other UT revivals hinges on Kingdom making bank, then I'm going to have to REALLY get on the BW train. Helps that Primal and BW Megatron look great as is. I hope Waspinator's around the corner because that T30 one was pretty great, wasn’t he?

 

I think Airrazor will make or break it. If she looks no better than her 90's toy, there may be little hope for newcomers to enjoy the line and use her as a mascot for the "ugly beasts" even though she's one of many potentially superior.

 

Kingdom Waspinator needs to be a weaponizer or at least have SS86 Kup's gimmick of limb removal. That would put it leaps and bounds above the T30 one.

 

Why does RID get this much disrespect? disgusting.
Also these two would make for fantastic modern combiners.

 

Car Robots seriously underperformed in Japan and RiD was shuffled around and heavily edited because of 9/11, along with only being dubbed to pad the line out for Armada to be produced. Saban had the rights to the show but with Disney buying a lot fo Saban properties and then selling them back (like Power Rangers) the series itself was lost in that mess legally and as such has never been able to get a rerelease on DvD in America. I liked the show, but it faced a serious struggle to reach audiences, despite how long the toyline itself went on for

 

I didn't realize this before, but the gate is open to a Waspinator with removable limbs because this is the exact gimmick they're using for SS86 Kup.

I would do unspeakable acts to get my hands on a modern RID Rail Racer.

That and it was on Fox Kids.

I think those who know what that means can agree with me when I say fuck Fox Kids.

 

Fox Kids was JUST before my time. More of a 4Kids and KidsWB kid myself.

 

4kids was basically just Fox Kids part 2.

 

You know. You say that and while not totally wrong, i miss it. Hell i miss all the after school/saturday morning kids shows.

 

They're going to hard with Primal? I might be in for a repaint remold myself. The lips, I never liked.

Build King was one my favorites, just needed to be a bit more sturdy. Never had the pleasure of obtaining the 3 trains.

Crossover Bait?

 

I think Hasbro thinks we viewed it the same way they did back in the day, just as filler.

 

Not sure about show accurate retools, but to my knowldge there isn't a smooth (as in Mainframe accurate) retool Primal in the works, but I wouldn't hold my breath for just simple repaints similar to Walmart 35th.

Speaking of retools/ repaints, Hasbro has a policy on it after CW repaints/ retools backfired and everyone hated it.

At most, a single mold can be in mainline twice (i.e Siege Starscream and TC; Prowl and Barry). The third mold has to either be an exclusive/ selects (Bluestreak was Walmart, Smokescreen in Selects)

The first instance of this new policy was in TR where Blurr and brainstorm were in retail, and then all the other versions were exclusive.

Walgreens are the only exception as Ratchet in Siege and Bluestreak in ER as dont count as exclusives internally (with their own dedicated art etc). Not sure why, but it is what it is.

Thrust is the same story unless they decided to give him exclusive packaging due to covid.

Assuming COVID is not a factor next year, maybe we can eliminate who's an exclusive and who's not using these assumptions.

 

Speaking of Primal and not super repaintablle characters makes me curious, is there any talk of my boy by chance?

 

Fuck exclusives in general but nothing more annoying than making members of a set exclusives, guess they didn't learn that lesson yet..

The year is 2021, The Kingdom line has wrapped up and its now New York Comic con season, we've seen the few figures left to be released for Kingdom.

They have a new set up display for a new Transformers toyline in 2022 and we see our first wave include the following:

CORE:

-Crankcase (We complete the Scavengers)

-Bumblebee (First CORE figure) (he's had plenty of Legends) (possible nod to Animated)

Deluxe:

-Needlenose (He gets his due)

-Ratchet (nod to Animated)

-Prowl (nod to Animated)

-Nyx (new IDW character)

Voyager:

-Optimus Prime (nod to Animated)

-Starscream (nod to Animated and maybe not look as blue but the vibrant crimson on grey color scheme)

Leader:

-Megatron (Voyager plus)

-Lugnut (ya'll want him to be big so he big)
