Are we not due for some news by November?

 

Maybe December or January , as we're already in July.

 

I am confused... the Generations toy line released all those BW figures?? I cannot find most of them (mainly looking for Scorponok). I own Rhinox, Blackarachnia, Waspinator and Rattrap. Forgot or didn't know about Megatron and Optimus Primal. Never knew about them doing ANYONE else... I would love Scorponok!

Also, someone else asked this question and I just want to re-ask because no one answered: Does anyone have a reliable place where I can buy the "Shockwave Lab SL-31N Dinobot weapon kit with the weapon rack and gun?" I looked on eBay and it's $30 for just the gun and one bullet belt. I see other sites (never hearing of them) selling just those two items as well for $25.

And to bring my post back on topic, I REALLY want MP Scorponok to be revealed next!

However, seeing that custom Terrorsaur...man that looks amazing! Really am curious how TT will pull it off. Literally seems like the hardest out of the remaining season 1 cast to tackle and make it look good without much kibble.

 

Not been following the news recently huh? Next year's generations line is called Kingdom and will feature at least 11 characters from the season 1 cast! Terrorsaur, Tarantulas and Inferno are so far MIA, but might end up as exclusives.

 

The first wave includes Primal, Cheetor, Megatron and Blackarachnia- so Beast Wars Kingdom releases consist almost entirely of characters who have received the MP treatment.
The two lines aren’t really comparable in any way other than depicting the same characters. No one collecting the MPs is going to look at Kingdom Rattrap and say ‘Yes! No need for me to buy the MP when that comes out now.’
There may be a minuscule impact on the Kingdom sales with the likes of me who have no use for Kingdom because the MPs exist but they’re aimed at two very different markets and I’m probably in the minority of ‘high end collectors’ who won’t also be buying Kingdom.

 

I think Kingdom did the smart thing and adjusted the beast modes as well to reduce competition. I may not feel the burning desire to have Primal as representation for the character, but his new beast mode gives it a new spin that really manages to differentiate him.

 

As far as the next BW entry goes, I really hope it’s a Predacon. I’m on the fence as to which character I’d like to see, though. It’s either Tarantulas or Terrosaur. But we don’t have any characters in the MP line with air based beast modes, so Terrosaur has to get my vote.

 

Oh absolutely. There are plenty of little design tweaks in the bot modes as well. Show accuracy is my everything and space is getting more limited every month so I just don’t have a place in my collection for kingdom. I might get the Blackarachnia to add to my original figures lineup and will see what else they have to offer Predacon-wise- plus there’s a Dinobot on the way so that could also join my OG crew seeing as I burned by deluxe to a crisp... Kingdom may yet still get some of my cash- and if I buy just one I’ll end up getting the primal as well to scale better than the old ultra.

 

Oh i knew that! Already preordered them, but there was a "Generations" toy line a few years back that had the figures I mentioned. I didn't know this new toyline was called the same thing. I am excited to see more figures from this line!!

 

I just bought MP Blackarachnia and like her way more than I expected to! I also bought Tigatron, and it makes me wonder - might it be possible to do with Tarantulas and Blackarachnia what they did with Tigatron and Cheetor? Share some engineering ideas, but make a larger, bulkier toy out of the bigger character? I always wanted Tarantulas as a kid - I used to use Blackarachnia's mutant face and pretend she was "possessed" - so it'd be great to have my favorite character from the show in MP format.

I just hope they don't go nuts and make a $550 Masterpiece Rampage.

 

Tarantulas will 100% be a different mold completely. That's not even up for debate.

and as for Rampage... I definitely want them to go nuts and give me a $550 version of him! But let's be honest, it will probably right at around 350 with 15 bucks for shipping from AMJ, and everyone will continue to scream "i'M nOt pAyInG $600!!!!"

 

This is the first time we got our last announced MP BW without knowing who's next...

With MP Tigatron now in situ on the Maximal shelf of the ol' Detolf, the Predacon shelf is looking even more empty by comparison.

It's time for a big splash of red, methinks.

Announce the next BW MP already, TT! We (as well as our wallets and bodies) are ready!

 

I expect Kingdom to have little to no effect on BWMPs. There may be some similarities between SOME of the Kingdom/SS86 figures and existing MPs but the disparity in alt-mode, finish, paint, accessories... not to mention target market makes them very different propositions. If you buy CHUG instead of MP you probably were never gonna buy MP anyway, conversely if you do buy MP these CHUG figures are not an acceptable alternative. I'd expect the large majority of people to continue to collect whatever they collected previously, one the other or both.

The theory they might releases less BWMPs during Kingdom just doesn't hold water for me. Did G1MPs slow down when Siege or Earthrise hit the shelves? Nope. Plus 2021 is the 25th Anniversary of Beast Wars, I can't see TT not wanting to slap a special logo on a couple of BMWPs in celebration of that of that.

 

So with the “news” that Terrorsaur, inferno and tarantulas aren’t getting new figures for kingdom (I still have a feeling they will) id like to see one of the above get the Masterpiece treatment  

We need some red in our collections stat!

 

Figure King #273 will be out in the next 10 days or so. Kingdom could get a look in perhaps, and a cheeky little MP BW reveal (or even just a teaser) would fit quite nicely with the beastly theme...
