Honestly they both have some pretty huge flaws, but the Ultra seems to suffer less for them. If you don’t need him to complete a set or cast I’d say skip him entirely.
There is some issue where the Ultra doesn’t stay tabbed together in robot mode...every time you move his legs it falls apart. Deluxe doesn’t have that issue.
If you want show accuracy, neither, although Deluxe is like based on a completely different (or wrong) design. If you want a trash panda, Deluxe. If you want a wolf, Ultra.
I'd be inclined to say the Ultra, but the knees tend to snap, so that outweighs any benefits, a technically better broken toy is no good.
i own both. on ultra class; the tabs on the upper legs are extremely annoying, they will not stay in. on the plus side; his size, gimmick, and accessories kinda make up for it. but at the same time he has zero head articulation. the deluxe is good but kinda small. his sword is small, and no sheath to put it in. robot mode; the tail bits get in the way of his legs, thus limiting articulation. his legs are tough to pose any way but straight up & down. the color scheme is brilliant and his blast effect is awesome. i really like the battle mask head sculpt. neither are perfect. both have their pluses and minuses. but id say it comes down to scale. if you want more of a shelf presence, go for the ultra. if youre looking for something to interact with, go with the deluxe..
