Eternal? most the fan base don't care about G1 at this point. Do they expect little Timmy to hunt down G1 accurate Runamuck? a show he doesn't care about and a character he knows nothing about.
If they don't move on from G1 soon they will kill the franchise.

I mean, the internet exists, and if we're going by shows little Timmy would know about, by that logic Transformers should just be Cyberverse and nothing else.

Thing is though there's that pesky WFC Netflix show (as crap as it is) as well as, y'know, adult fans like you and me around. G1 isn't going anywhere, and I doubt it'll kill the franchise at this point, but it certainly is stagnating and feels like it's no longer growing or evolving.

Split's right on several things, but here's a big thing that is getting overlooked: kids don't care about where the characters are from or who they are buying. Kids aren't collecting for the most part. Kids who have money or parents who buy them the transformers are looking at what looks cool and is fun.

When I was a young lad *raises arms in Kup story telling fashion* I only caught the tail end of G1 and rented the movie which had been out 3 years before I was born. But I still had g1 toys, reissues, or at least g2 versions of the g1 molds.

I never owned most of the core Beast Wars cast even though I loved the show as a kid, I was more into whatever was "cool looking" to me so I tended to get my toys based off that.

I didn't get back into G1 until I was like 20 after seeing some cool Fansproject figures and then researching more of the G1 characters online. Recently I've been having a blast with the things coming out lately since I stopped collecting Masterpiece and 3rd Party.

Transformers aims at multiple demographics in order to sell and I assure you that their professional marketing team probably has its fingers on the pulse of who is buying the products they make. I can hardly say that it's anywhere near dying because I have been throwing all my spare money at Hasbro because of all the upcoming releases.

That was the case on my end. Got into transformers in the late 2000's, and despite the fact that I mostly watched the G1 cartoon, my collection largely consisted of Animated, Bayverse, and (Somehow) Beast Wars. The only G1 styled guys I had were Universe 2.0 Ironhide and Acid Storm. And I didn't care as a kid, cause all my toys were FUN. Well, minus a box set from the movies. But you get what I mean.

That G1 doesn't look cool and the designs are extremely outdated?

This recent SS86 looks so awfully G1 accurate it hurts my optics. I love Jazz but I wish he was earthrise and not that dulled down bland G1 SS86. I wonder how some of these figures get better surface detail than others while the Budget for it was not spend elsewhere

Keep in mind i was around 6 or 7 at the time. And to a kid that age, they looked nearly perfect to me lol. Cause they were the only figures I had that looked accurate to the G1 show. So they made me happy. Heck, I went back and got a new Universe Acid Storm just cause I liked the toy so much lol.

I personally love the designs. Just because you don't, doesn't mean anything at all really. Our personal opinions mean nothing for the overall success of a line that others like. I'm not a fan of My Little Pony in the slightest, but that doesn't mean it wasn't successful for the audience who was into it.

You're not the target audience, but I certainly am. I love SS86 and am so hyped.

    Yh fair enough.
    It's just
    ..
I guess I simply hate the 86 designs. It's like I keep saying, Kup is a slipper with wheels, Blurr is a door stopper, Scourge a piece of soap, Galvatron again just a cannon, Springer an extremely lazy rocket car with good AC, Arcee and hot rod weird looking futuristic cars. It's the alts that drive me nuts

    Back on topic:

Those production sample pics are by Takara right? So no TonTon yet?
And what proof do we have that the leaked listings are the complete lineup for Kingdom other than that the number Checks out?

This is why I have three Paleotrex on pre-order and why I'm so excited about the Fossilizers. Frack my nostalgia for BW, THIS is what I am most excited for from Transformers in 2021.

Primal looks really good, too bad that the others in the picture just don't do it for me.

I do hope this line sells well so we can maybe get a WFC Trilogy for just the Beast Wars Characters.

Hopefully the other Maximal figures really bring the set together because, yeah, currently it's missing a bit of magic.

I've made my peace with it and it opens up my budget for SS86 but I will make sure to comment on the figures as the line goes on just in case a stray Hasbro or Takara designer may see it.

If I can get Primal and BW Megs on sale though those are instacops, they are definetly the highlights of Kingdom as of now.

I have a comment about the final 2 Earthrise Galactic Odyssey Packs. Botropolis is seen in the Go-Bots (Not the Tonka ones) cartoon, aka the Yayayarst cluster, yet it was also in the Hadeen system of Animated. Meanwhile, "Dominus" is also known as "Master", the Japanese origin of the Headmasters and the Godmasters. The only 3 Headmasters we got in the WFC Trilogy Toy-lines are Apeface, Snapdragon, and finally SCORPONOK. Meaning that Dominus might be BlackZarak. Now THAT would be sweet. Meanwhile, the only Godmaster (or Powermaster) that is currently in the WFC Trilogy Toy-line is Doubledealer.

I do wish Rattrap was more brownish and less orange, but I actually really like pretty much everything about all of these. I think these last few images of Cheetor has made the colors look more appealing, and the overall designs are really nice updates. I prefer that they are updated because unlike G1 which had very realistic and accurate vehicle modes to begin with, most of the beast modes in the toys and even the CGI looked way off from the real things.
