I can vouch for the neck extender, it's worth it. Also Toyhax now has the clean outline symbols in stock which look great with TE-01.

 

Got my cell shaded version from TCP today. I haven’t had a chance to transform him yet, but my first impression is very positive. I have purchased multiple cell shaded MP-10 KOs over the last few months and they all arrived broken. This guy feels much better by comparison. Also, the paint feels more durable, but that is just speculation until I transform him. My only complaint is that the plastic around his knee joints is not painted, but that is understandable given the likelihood of paint rub.

 

Yup, love me the cell-shaded.

another happy person with the t_78 neck extensions. huge difference it makes for my OCD having that extra 1mm of height. some others i've seen felt a little too long but these are great.

he's perfect now. love my TE01; so glad i went with this vs mp44. now all that's missing is a soundchip in his rifle

True, but it was done in the old MP aesthetic and a second attempt could look more like the current aethetic

 

I'd love to see TE G1 Goldbug. They'd nail his blocky design. Same goes for Runamuck and Runabout.

 

Agreed, I mean, the figure in bot mode TE01 looks like a freaking Masterpiece rendition of the R.E.D. Optimus prime! I mean, the figure is so clean, that it looks like it isn't even meant to become a truck! that's how good he looks on the shelf. In contrast MP36/IT Megatron is a bit too panel ridden and overly complex in it's transformation with visible parts, and a poor excuse for a backpack, needing an additional part from a 3rd party.
I would love to see TE tackle the MP36 and remake Megatron in a more clean aesthetic like that of TE-01. Can they get lightning in a bottle twice?? Not sure. But I sure love the TE-03, which is my next purchase! I love their Mirage.
But when I look at my new shelf display and I see Megatron Mp36 next to my TE01, there is a glaring difference. MP36 looks less sturdy, a bit more breakable, while TE01 could fool you as it would look like a figure and not an actual Transformer!! I mean, Kudos to TE on that!

You are getting my hopes too high. Please dont do this, or ill be disappointed. Yes I want to get rid of that mp36 pos mold.....As good (structurally and QC wise) as ITs fixes were, I cant stand the aesthetic deficiencies of the core design (even with the backplate which mitigated one serious problem)...So much that I was flirting seriously with the idea of buying Apollyon....

If TE can pull off an MP sized, clean designed pistol mode Megs, Id be all over it. And so far I am convinced they can. The question is why they dont?

 

Got a chance to transform cell prime today. The good news is that I manhandled this figure and didn’t experience any noticeable paint chipping. The bad news is that mine was miss-assembled so one of his window panels is incorrect. I am pretty bummed because this was shaping up to be my favorite prime figure of all time. Hopefully, I can get it sorted out with TCP.

While I'm sure a TE Megs would look amazing, you still have to keep in mind that a realistic handgun is one of the most awkward alt molds for TF to turn into. Turning a robot into a truck is a simple feat in comparison.

I don't know. Maybe they are just biding their time designing a workable model? I think that if anyone can get an MP Megatron as close to animation model and yet still transform, it will be TE.. I mean, yes I think some people here said that the designer did DX9 Mightron, which was a design that DX9 acquired and produced. Now, while Mightron is nice, it was done well before MP36 was released, and subsequently, a new design could take cues and directions from the MP36, while also being able to improve it and make it even more aesthetically clean like TE01. It's certainly doable, and have to think that TE is probably just not sure the demand is there given so many people like MP36 and it's Ko's. However I think that a lot of TE01 Owners see a glaring difference when their Optimus and Megatrons are on their shelves, I certainly do. If TE was paying attention to fan feedback, I sure hope all us TE01 fans are making some noise and asking about it. Ironstar is easily accessible via facebook so it may be possible to mount a fan demand campaign if we can muster some of our fellow TE01 owners to send a message to him.

Mightron isn't bad, but think about what they could do now, and especially since there is an MP36 to work from and improve!

Maybe, but then again there have been tons of advancements since the days of Apollyon and Mightron.. These legends Megatron figures are a testament to that feat, and show that there are many different scenarios that engineering can come up with to pull it off. I bet with today's skills and tricks learned to transform a gun into Megatron, that TE could pull off a veritable miracle and give us a Megatron we could feel proud to set next to their TE01 especially if very clean.

I mean if Magic Square can do a legends Megatron like this.. TE can certainly do one better in my opinion..
