He's 1:35 scale, not """"Deluxe scale"""". As in, in scale with the WFCT figures and the rest of SS. Price points are no longer size classes.
Wonder if grimlock’s dino head has a neck swivel, wheelie would be able to fix easily for display 3rd party wise, make a new set of limbs that have the joints to articulate fully rather than the squat pose and pair it with a sword.
You're being too dramatic. They're not "ignoring the 86 movie for all intents and purposes" when so many of the movie characters have been getting toys across the years, and Studio Series 86 isn't happening for no reason it's the movie's anniversary next year.
So it looks like Blurr's forearm kibble is attached to his hands, making his wrist swivel purely a transformation joint and absolutely useless for posing. Man, this toy is really going to suffer from being based on the TR engineering.
Ah yes, complaining that somebody ended up disagreeing with you, my favorite part of TFW. But if forearm gaps are your only problem with the figure then you should be happy that you got off easy instead of having huge holes like Siege Impactor, some things you just have to accept as commonplace. But if you you'd prefer having hands molded as a part of the arm then PoTP Jazz should make you very happy.
I've posted about how I've ordered this whole wave of SS, but now some actual thoughts on the figures... Hot Rod is a slam dunk. Never have we gotten a better one as long as he's more stable than MP-09. Grimlock looks amazing. Possibly better than MP-08 in terms of articulation, and definitely the best retail, mainline Grimlock we've ever gotten. Kup is a bit thin but I like him. I don't know if I like him better than the old Generations version, but for fitting in the movie cast, he's the best. Blur is great, to, but never really cared that much about the character. I will get him though. Scourge looks awesome. They took some liberties but ain't know way you won't know who that is. Jazz is looking pretty shnazzy too. Again this might not be the greatest Jazz ever, but it's the most accurate to the cartoon. Anyways, I am happy to be getting these. They all fall in the range of "buyable to amazing." Now I want to see Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, the rest of the dinobots, and Wreckgar.
God dayum Grimlock thicc. I wasn't sure about his beast mode at first but I think it's growing on me, G1 Grimlock's always had kind of a dinky T-rex mode.
Blurr is... not stellar. Kup's head still looks awful. Grimlock's dino mode leaves a lot to be desired. Jazz is a bit too small. And, of course, too hollow. Scourge remains best of the bunch.
Ah. Complaining that someone is complaining. My favorite part of the Transformers fandom. What "rational" behavior will we see next from you? Condescending gifs? Insults? All prime examples of typical behavior exhibited by "rational" Transformers fans who are always right.
Dear Primus, they looks just OUTSTANDING! These are must have, an expensive one but they are G1 Movie characters! How awesome is that!
There’s disagreeing, and then there’s being a passive aggressive goose while doing it. Maybe if you take a step back you wouldn’t have done the same. But then that’s probably another thing you love about this online community, so perhaps that’s was intentional on you’re part. If you want to turn this discussion into an Ouroboros of smarmy insults find someone else to participate with. Commonplace only becomes so if widely accepted. There’s no reason it has to be unless you enjoy being a sheep, whale or whatever animal you chose correspond with on a metaphoric level. Also suggesting people buy older versions of a product? Really? Most people want newer versions on the assumption they surpass the old in all aspects, not take a step back. I think worst part of your statement was not even acknowledging 2010 figure when doing so as at least thats an overall good figure.
I'm also wondering why cyclonus is not included in the studio line and is instead in the kingdom line? Is he not deemed as important as scourge?
They were all originally supposed to be part of Kingdom. The majority of the '86 cast got moved over to SS because of changes in the storyline (inclusion of BW) and/or the line's gimmick not looking right with their vehicle modes, according to our resident insiders. Remember, Arcee and Springer also aren't in SS86 Because they were already in Earthrise and Siege respectively (with Arcee bring repacked in Kingdom). It has nothing to do with characters being deemed important or not.
It's kinda obvious though that more plastic and engineering went into hot rod then into Kup, jazz or blurry. And that's without the accessories. There's more to the cost of a transformer than just how tall it is, otherwise figures like rotf and animated lockdown would have been voyagers, while bulkhead and lugnut would have been deluxe. From what I see, hot rod doesn't have any exposed hollow areas, seems to have a higher parts count, sharper sculpt and nicely applied paint
Why are people complaining about blurr, it is animation accurate. This is what happens when creative liberties aren't taken, like what they did with hot rods upper arm placement in vehicle mode and faux chest. Although that's still comparing a voyager budget figure to a deluxe budget one, if blurr was in voyager with hot rod maybe a more complex transformation would have helped with those lower arms ? Blurr honestly looks pretty good, just a bit too bright in my opinion, the chest window in particular is so transparent that it looks like it's missing in the pics
