I checked a couple of UK sites (being based there) and they’re charging us the same in £ as the going price in $! Or more! Anyway the price to import, etc will likely work out the same or more, but that’s well cheeky. Jazz and Hot Rod ordered. I was thinking of Scourge, but I don’t want to spend £30 on a character when I’m not keen on the alt mode. Besides, I’ve already ordered Kingom Cyclonus, and the robot modes are similar and I far prefer Cyclonus’s jet mode. Oh, and Hot Rod had already run out of preorders on one of those sites!
The Wheelie fig is a cute nod to the film, but he is basically an accessory. I'm not mad about it, but it does look like something most people will likely toss in a drawer to be forgotten. I'm interested in seeing if this Grim will get a more toy accurate repaint sometime down the line, maybe with his sword in place of the Wheelie accessory.
Look, we get it. You don’t like G1 and you’re butthurt about not getting any bayverse figures. You’ve been crying about it for several pages. Crying more isn’t gonna change anything. The 1986 movie figures are coming whether you like it or not, so spare everyone in the thread your crying and deal with it. Act like an adult FFS.
Preordered all the SS 86 on Amazon. I'll decide which ones I actually want later. That's the way it is these days...
Oh, good. Another figure I need to buy stickers for because Hasbro felt the need to make a random deco change. Makes me wonder if Hasbro has a side deal going with Toyhax. At this point, I\'m worried that, when my Earthrise Prowl figure shows up, his doors are going to have \"Po-pos\" on them.
I'm pretty sure he's a kid. I tried to sell something to him once and the sale fell through because his Dad said no. Not an excuse for the endless whining though!
Ah thank you. I thought they were just G1 reissues. Looks like I have something else to look forward to. Odd that Mindwipe will be released with them though instead of Highbrow.
Okay, my reactions... Damn it Runabout and Thrust remind me just how much great stuff in Earthrise I still need to get. I still have to get a seeker, though the two I need are Thundercracker and Skywarp. Well that mold\'s likely to get future uses, so I can wait. Studio Series... That\'s a nice Grimlock... But I have Masterpiece, and he\'s not that different... so probably a pass. Hot Rod is tempting too, but I\'m not sure. Jazz I\'ve needed for a while, but the poor guy got gypped on accessories compared to everyone else. Just a little pistol, not even a blast effect. Kup being dismemberable is.... Funny. So the planet Mircon set... Was that firetruck duo used outside of there? I need more Micromasters, but that set might end up pricier than I can warrant. Not crazy about that shade of yellow either. And the retros... Well that\'s a plesent surprise. I wasn\'t expecting ot see those molds reissued. While I got everyone there I was interested in, it gives me hope other great generations molds that I missed the first time through might get re-issued.
I wasn't quick enough on the Grimlock preorder but I've got Hotrod locked in. Everyone else I feel fine to wait and pick up in stores. All of them look great. Blurr is the biggest disappointment with those horrendously greebled arms. Even in these pictures it looks like they keep falling down. I really wish they would've handled that better.
Hopefully in the next wave we also get Skullsmasher, Weirdwolf, Highbrow, and (I really doubt it but) Misfire.
Especially since we are still getting more Bayverse figures. The original Studio Series line isn't ending or being replaced. I wonder if Highbrow, Skullcruncher, and Weirdwolf will be in a second wave. EDIT: Beaten by a second.
I've pre-ordered all the Studio Series 86, man they look awesome. Jazz is a bit bare deco wise, and I get why, but reprolabels I'm sure will handle that so no big deal. FFS with this kind of whining you have to at least be 10. Get over it already. You have Studio Series and MP, these are not getting in the way of your walking scrap piles.
On early releases of POTP Deluxe jazz underneath his autobot insignia one of the designers put small Cybertronian text that translated into "MAGA." Jazz was later re-released with wave 3 where this was removed
I think I figured out what's through me off about Grimlock: he need abs ~ compared to the animation model, he kinda goes straight from his waist to the ribcage (see the inset gold portion above the waist in the upper right) they kind of approximated it with the red section above the waist, but it feels too short. The solid, primary color blocks on his shins over the sculpted detail loo silly too, should have followed along with some of it, or added some extra detail to the paint apps to match the sculpting. I'd also like to know what they were thinking on his Dino arms, totally whiffed those. if they were on ball joints you could at least have the option of how they were positioned. Wish they'd gotten a better shot of his head, I really want to see that close up, it looks like its a great sculpt, and the way the tail folds away in the legs looks fantastic. Hopefully we get these molds in toy decos down the road someday.
They all look great, like Retail mini MP, this is an exciting move that if smart, Hasbro TT will capitalize on 110%, I think they'll be safer and will not double dip, i think thats evident by the figures spread between kingdom and SS, no doubles. Theoretically, we could over time receive a figure of every character featured in the 86 TFTM film including Devastaror and Optimus Prime but I doubt they'll do Megatron however if laws and atmosphere change years down the line, it becomes more possible.
For PotP Jazz, supposedly a subcontractor had one of the tampos on the figure say "MAGA" in cybertronian letters. I thought it was hilarious, got him a little red hat as well. No reason for people to get offended. And I'm not even american.
