You bastard @The Sqidd. Just as I mentioned the M&M VF-22s, you put up an ad up and looks like that you have deep pockets and money to burn. What's next for you? A flying Spinner car or a Light Cycle..
Just wondering has there been or should there be any word that new HMR Macross will be coming out at some point?
The HMR line is silenced for now untill this crazy virus outbreak is over or dissipated. Right now it's just the DX YF-29 Alto Full Set, DX VF-1 Roy and the Supers (both TV version) to finish the year. Hopefully that the HMR line, DX YF-21, Arcadia's non-PF Nora SV-51 or the VT-1 will show up next year.
The construction looks similar to the DX VF-19Advance/YF-19... IIRC I don’t remember hearing about loose hips on the DX VF-19Advance and some were too tight in the DX YF-19. So hopefully the loose ball jointed hips are gone for good. I hope the shoulder and ankle joints have been strengthened as well. Especially hope the transformation hinges for the fuselage have been strengthened as that’s a vital piece for transformation and has cracked before. No prob. Valkyrie Scramble closed up shop shortly after Yamato’s VF-1 line started IIRC. I remember they had teamed up with MacrossWorld for a world premiere unveiling for either Yamato’s V1 1/60 VF-1 or 1/48 VF-1. It used to be 1 of thee Japanese Macross sites to go to. Forgot why they stopped running. Not sure what happened with Valkyrie Factory either but that was 1 of the very 1st Macross sites I found with comprehensive galleries. It was an eye opener to see it in the late 90’s, seeing all the toys I never knew existed before(aside from the 1/55 VF-1).
The YF-19 hips are so tight, I have to loosen them to transform them and then retighten them to use as just a regular hip joint.
When I 1st transformed mine it seemed like it was torquing the joint too much instead of actually rotating so I loosened 1 hip joint a bit. The real test is if Bandai retools the DX VF-25 with the strengthened joints of the new DX Alto YF-29 and if so...if the joints don’t loosen up under the weight of the Armored Messiah armor.
I straight up just want a VF-25 3.0 with all of the latest aspects of what they have learned in their valk making thus far.
Me too but I would prefer ratchets over strengthened ball joints and rivets any day. Also strengthened transformation hinge for the VF-25, don’t care if it gets changed to unpainted diecast metal.
And where is the flashy VF-1s to go with it and escorted alongside with the flank of HISS Tanks, Trouble Bubbles, Rattlers and the Night Raven??
Apparently, Bandai added detents to the chest joint on the new YF-29 to most likely compensate for the lack of a true locking mechanism for the chest. Also here is a look at the redesigned hip joint. Source: https://twitter.com/simsim5479
Good stuff. The DX VF-27 definitely needs the chest detents. It’s the floppiest all around of the 3. Hopefully that redesigned hip joint and housing were designed to last. Aside from 2 more screws(and socket piece), it doesn’t look all that different from the previous DX YF-29 hips.
