Does anyone know a good place to get a mod disk to trick a ps2 slim into playing Japanese games?I prefer the disk as I'm not good at souldering boards yet.I have a pile of import games and would love to play some of them.Any help would be gratefull.

Not the cheapest option (though, they aren't too painful on the wallet... 170-180 at Play-Asia), but I cut out the middle man and bought a JP PS2. Gotta say, t'was the easiest route.

I read something about a set of small metal bits you plug into the slim PS2's door slots to keep various bits held down for the swap trick, but $40 seemed rather expensive for a few machine-shaped prefab parts.

There was supposed to be a memory card slot device that would act as a modchip. Was called VAST but I never saw it on the market even though it was supposed to be released at the end of Sept.

The mod chips are more expensive then the games. :banghead:  All the games I want are on the Japanese Greatest Hits list too, so they are affordable now. I might just break down and buy a Japanese Ps2.

Swap discs can be a pain in the ass. I installed a flip top, and used a swap disc for Fire Pro returns. It worked for about 2 weeks of and on, then the laser on my drive failed.

    Yay.
