Or keep Hightower a deluxe and make Scrapmetal a scout, that way both arms end up the same size

It’s a shame Devy didn’t come later since Core Class seems to be the newfound resurrection of Scouts.

While I enjoy reading the insights about the creative process, I can't help but feel like "they could have made it better with more dev time, a different release schedule, and more budget" is basically true of... well... everything?

Thank you. This basically confirms what I suspected all along, and it's a pity to read. Robot modes are all great on these guys, but the final combiner's Scavenger/Overload combo is just lackluster in my opinion. They couldn't do it and went 'oh shit'. :-/

Slightly annoyed too, especially since that opinion was somehow enough to be scolded for back then.

I think they still could have done a commander scavenger while making overload a leader too, 20$ more but it's the whole package.

I think at that point the issue would end up being that it has too much mass. Having a leader class Overload and a commander class Scavenger would make an absurdly large torso that the limbs would be way too small for.

If I collected SS, I would get the red one and keep this yellow one to use with each other as the two different characters...

Someone said it in the movie toys thread and yeah, that’s really awesome!!

That Commander Scavenger does sound pretty cool, but I’m confused. Do you or did you work with Hasbro or Takara or something? I don’t see where that information is in these interviews, forgive my ignorance.

Maybe if they went the way of having 2 bots forming the leg, which the bottom would have more surface area, while the top would focus on distributing the weight in front and back. I think that Payload would form with Long Haul:

And for Rampage or Skipjack it would be Trencher:

It would be cool if later on they make updated versions of some of these characters that are still compatible with the others for forming a better Devastator.

I’m still hoping for a Demolisher repaint of Scavenger. That’s the only one I really want, and I’m surprised they haven’t announced one yet. Any hints @Pixelmaster ??

No plans for Demolisher to be repainted (at least to my knowledge) at the moment, but the team has considered it

God... What I would give for a Commander Scavenger. He's my absolute favorite by far and that would have done wonders for the proportions.

Quite an interesting amount of differences. Like, it’s not a lot, but it’s not as sparse as I initially thought.

I like the gold and silver highlights that were added. I think some of the sand/dirt effect looks good, like on Scrapper and Scrapmetal. But, on Longhaul, it’s a little on the excessive side (Not too bad, though), and for Skipjack, it’s ridiculously lacking. They couldn’t have painted the treads, or at least had some continuity and continued painting the yellow side bars? Besides that, he looks alright.

I feel that this boxset is for both people who missed out on the original devastator release and those who are diehard Studio Series and Movie Devastator fans. Otherwise, I would imagine that you’re probably not that interested.
