A proper PMOP or Ginrai would be nice honestly if only because the TR one (even the Ginrai version) lacked the small robot and then POTP felt like it was half way to what a proper one would be. (even in his damaged state Optimus had plenty of fight left, especially for the final battle) I mean, considering TF:TM was thirty-four years ago, and DOTM was only nine, yeah you would have waited longer for Hot Rod. Also who the fuck actually is Devcon? I mean I know what he is, but yeah I gotta say an accurate Generations Hot Rod has been a more glaring hole in my collection than a literal nameless background character. ("Devcon" isn't even its proper name, all the DOTM characters had placeholder names on their concept art)

So let's say they don't put any g1 into SS. Eventually all the big movie names run out. All we have left are guys like Devcon and Hatchet. At that point, do you think the line is gonna sell well enough to continue, consisting of only minor background characters? That's why g1 is here, to keep SS successful. That way g1 fans get nice g1 accurate representations of their childhood characters for the first time, while movie fans get the continuation of Studio Series, so that the smaller movie characters who's designs they love have a better chance of existing some day. Is that so bad?
Isn't his design just a mech-version of the Cloverfield monster? Kinda makes him less unique overall. Don't get me wrong I think it's a cool design but he's just a nameless background character. The only Devcon I'd like to see is the actual one.
That's totally fine. Give me a Hot Rod alongside a Devcon. Unfortunately it looks like most of the Bayverse movie design toys in the line this year are slight variants of existing toys (RotF Bumblebee and Sideswipe). Dino is a nice addition, presumably. Still waiting for some of those really unique Decepticons, though.
No. G1 is in SS only because Plans took a hard change for WFC: Pt3. SS as is sells just fine. And in fact seems to be better stocked than WFC. Ive seen no fewer than 3 waves of SS at retail since covid whilst ER has struggled to get past wave 1.
