I came into this thread to say something controversial- they both look awesome. You want to argue with me? HAVE AT YOU!
Cool that it looks like they are doing the whole "looks like a voyager but being sold as a leader to budget the figure having better tooling than the voyager price point and packed with more stuff" they did with Shockwave/Magnus/Optimus Prime only now applying to the voyager scale. So this Hot Rod looks like a deluxe but he's at the voyager price point to budget what is clearly a way better figure than your normal deluxe and have those extra accessories. Smart call on their part. I'd be more than happy to pay the voyager price point for what would normally be a deluxe if the engineering justifies the price jump.
I'm going to scream if when i open him up i hear "you got the touch" play like when i open up a musical birthday card from grandma
What about the WFC continuity? Will it stop altogether before it even gets to modern Earth, or will it transition via alternate universes into other TF eras?
dddddddddaaaaannnnnnnnngggggggg both these figures are must haves for me the only thing i dont like about jazz is his wheels there just to how do i put this...weird cant wait for triple f now i need cliffjumper but if we get nexo suit daniel i would want nexo suit spike so bad he would come with maybe perceptor those would be great
Since when? If anything, Jazz got wrapped in to Studio because it's the one that's usually eaten the cost of getting the car license (Netflix Bee notwithstanding.)
I don't think 4.5 inches is a stretch for Jazz's height, nor is it the end of the world. For context, here are Siege Sideswipe, ER Cliffjumper, and United Jazz side by side with a tape measure. 4.5 inches would put him a head taller than Cliffjumper, but a head shorter than Sideswipe (and most other recent carbots). 5 inches would be ideal for me, but I'd personally still be happy with it. RTS Jazz still fits in well, but he is taller than Ironhide and Ratchet, so I'd take slightly too short over slightly too tall. If you need him to be the same height as the other cars, I think the POTP version is an option haha. Using the recent leak (where Jazz was shown next to Kup with 1:1 scale) and recent reviews, this height is pretty consistent. Taller than Cliffjumper, shorter than a carbot (Wheeljack in this case). You never know if perspective and weird angles would make this appear differently, but even if he is short, I think he'll be a great figure.
Is that conclusive on the thighs and legs? I keep looking at it, and all I can wrap my head around for the legs and feet to do what they do for car mode is the combiner wars joint style, and then the rear wheels sit on a rotation.
I honestly don't think it has anything to do with "cheapening out". The hinge looks to be made of that nylon plastic that doesn't take paint well. It was also probably gang molded, and to make it a different color would have meant a new mold. They're all working on the Diaclone Reboot line. Thick paper stickers all over it won't help that. I like the cut of your jib.
Nope. Obnoxioys outside clip-on wheels. 4.5 vs. standard 5.5 inch deluxe class scale height. Hollowed out thighs. And still 19.99.
RTS Jazz is a nice chunky bot but has a flippity-doo torso/arm assembly and lacks ankle tilts. Otherwise though it's all opinion on whether this is the best Jazz or not. I think it is by the looks of it.
I think we can ALL agree that this Jazz has THE BEST face ever! Lifted straight from the Sunbow cartoon.
The problem with Unicron Trilogy is that it was too different for its own good. If Hasbro's target audience is really still kids (which I seriously question) then Unicron Trilogy is too much of a departure from the characters kids know and love. Thats why we keep getting all these reboot cartoons since TF Prime. Unfortunately, Hasbro doesnt want to do an ongoing storyline for Transformers. (Similar to Star Wars where characters are born and die over centuries) Unicron Trilogy could work if those characters were the decendants of G1 characters similar to how Beast Wars is portrayed. But Hasbro isnt going to kill off 95% of the beloved G1 characters to make it happen because kids wont buy into it. They dont just need Prime and Megatron. They need Bumblebee. They need a traditional traitorous Starscream. They need a big dumb but lovable Grimlock. They need a female heroine like Arcee. (or Windblade) Unicron Trilogy just doesnt offer what Hasbro thinks kids love most. Bringing back Unicron Trilogy would be like bringing back Gobots. A big "meh" for kids. And I dont hate Unicron Trilogy. But I definitely feel it was made for the Pokemon era when Japanese "anime" style cartoons were at their height in popularity. Cartoons have changed in the past 10 years. They would have to completely reboot the cartoon for homage toys to be successful with kids. Hasbro wont axe G1 to do that.
Kids don't care about a new deluxe Runamuck, they are targeting 40+ year old adults. Kids just buy whatever, when I was a kid I bought some generations, I had no idea who the characters were. UT fans are in their 20's and could afford to supplement generations but they just don't care.
