To me, it seems: -The doors and the entire windshield (including the back section) fold up under the front windshield. -The thighs fold into the back of the legs, similar to the SiegeRise Datsun engineering. -The arms might pull a similar trick to G1 Jazz, where one arm is folded forward and one is folded back, or it might be closer to the aforementioned Datsun molds.
But not the same designs. If people want Armada figures it's because they want figures of the Armada design. If you wanted a G1 Optimus, would Laser Optimus be good enough? If you wanted Beast Wars Season 1 Optimus Primal would you be happy with Beast Machines Optimus Primal? Saying "well they're the same character" is ignoring what people are asking for
I think it's the best Transformers show ever, but I'll admit it has a pretty weak start, and thing's don't really get amazing until Season 2. Still really mad that season 4 got canned so Hasbro could launch their doomed TV channel and its accompanying mediocre Transformers show, and it's still THE ONLY major transformers series to date to not have an official continuation, I.E. a sequel cartoon, TV movie, or some other official sequel media. Anyways, these toys look good, cant wait to see the rest of the wave in full tomorrow.
So I guess if hasbro thinks ut won't be as potentially successful like bw I guess the next sublime will be some mix of late g1( euro g1, masterforce, victory) and beast wars
Seeing these '86 figures make me very annoyed at how Arcee turned out. She's quite bad in hand and she will look even worse next to this Hot Rod.
Yeah it's not exactly a perfect show The humans villand don't need be there and totally have been scrapped and I wouldn't care less also they could have gotten rid of the allspark(it's such a shitty MacGuffin)And I kind of wish animated bumblebee had a little more development throughout the show like the others (also kind of wish they also kept the animation they had in season 1 through season 2) though I do disagree with the whole season one thing season one is the weakest yeah but it is does have some good episodes. If you fix all those problems and make it definitely be a perfect show(That And a season 4).
It got official sequel material via botcon. If you count that or not is a different story, but it is an official continuation, albeit a brief one
Thought that was legally considered fan material, kind of like how the Guido Guidi art that Siege Barricade is based on is "fanart." The closest thing Animated has to an official TV movie or sequel series is... Slipstream's appearances in the Legends manga, which butcher her personality like Beast Machines butchered Rhinox.
Once they're out, I'll be using the SS86 Hot Rod as Rodimus Prime, despite being a bit shorter than ER Optimus prime... Jazz, on the other hand, looks like he can blend in with the Earthrise/Kingdom (and yes, he doesn't look too much like Porsche 935 Turbo)...
Jazz is just great. You'd think he'd be a regular, but for such an old guard character and all the tenets of a car that becomes a robot, he's really rare. Ah, so the big idea that 'sorta' worked in WFC is finally trickling down, I think we all more or less saw it coming. Toy size is officially nebulous so long as they can pack in appropriate VALUE!! Seriously though I don't really mind. The extra stuff is all very characterful and Hot Rod himself is slightly enhanced (fingers so he can do the thing). I'm a little shocked they didn't pack him doing the thing, I assume the standard box is too short. Overall it's really nice and given the alt looks very similar to the POTP version, which had to become a third of someone bigger, they really cleaned up the robot mode. This begs two questions: 1) are we gonna get a dedicated Leader Rodimus that ISN'T Hot Rod with a Trailer? 2) Should I be tracking down an alternate universe prime or gamble that a voyager version will come out in SS as an easy cash grab?
I most likely will buy the Jazz right away, but I also feel his back might be a bit... Extended. Like the shot might be misleading, but I feel to accommodate the doorless Animation design, Jazz will likely have a bit of a backpack to hide the doors.
Rid01 says hi Botcon was officially licensed by hasbro at the time, their figures and fiction are all official from that time period.
