I think its fine. They're likely ordering from an overseas supplier at a higher cost.

They're being up front about it, and not listing it on the website as a normal item.

 

Anyone order from these guys before? I have a pre-order coming from TF-Robots.nl but I imagine it will take months so I ordered one from these guys as well. I'll just offload the second one when (if?) it arrives for whatever I paid. I figured it was Paypal so pretty safe as far as buyer protection goes, and there's a good chance I'll get an email shortly saying they oversold and it was a website error.

 

Why an eBay store though instead of selling direct via their own site like Maketoys? That way they could artificially control retail pricing so you'd see more consistency globally.

 

Many buyers here I think would prefer some American company to intermediate. I honestly don't care. I'd rather buy direct because I don't have to pay tax.

That's a common misconception. If you think about it, it's the other way around. Evil is the root of all money. If everyone is trustworthy we can get by with just using promises and the ability to trade those promises.

I haven't had any issues with them. Smooth sailing.
Yesterday (10/13/2020) they notified me via email that my order has shipped.
So far so good.

I am a holding pattern with BaBa also with Thomas. Post pandemic he/she/them is really starting to suck. I emailed several days ago, and then emailed them on the website. No response to either. At this point I am not too far from filing a claim on all my shit stuck in preorder limbo that I have paid full price for(maketoys thrust, ramjet, fantoys blitzwing, te mirage) and being done with them.

 

No fucking way I'm paying a 200 dollar markup. They can keep the damn things.

 

I'm of the opinion that's shady AF. When we can't even trust retail there's a huge problem.

 

He is doing more than he should to help us. but it would be interesting to know where he gets his stock from.

 

This is nothing against TCP or any other retailer, but when you see this item being listed as high as that and SELLING OUT (post is no longer visible) you have to ask yourselves it the problem really lies with the retailers.

This is a buyer problem, plain and simple.

People could simply say “no, forget it”. But that’s not the case here.

This leve of insanity is something I never witnessed before with any toy. Maybe Bandai and their valks but that’s always been an issue.

Baba is a guy. I speak with him often. Brandon from tcp is one of the best ppl I've EVER dealt with from any retailer, transformers or otherwise. Yeah he's not running a store for his health, its a business, but to say he's trying to gouge us? Absolutely ridiculous.

 

I don’t think anyone has said that. I don’t doubt he’s (or any other US based E-tailer) paying top $$$ to source these things.
