I know it's early in the holiday season, but Im not expecting much this year. The toy market is being ruined by scalping, where MSRP is now the discount, and retailers like Walmart routinely charge more than MSRP (while simultaneously allowing scalpers to flood their marketplace with outrageous prices on new releases).

This reminds me of how discount shops sometimes get KOs instead of TFs. During bad dry spells.

AFAIK, buying $40 of gift cards to get $10 credit on amazon does not require an AMEX card. Nothing like that is mentioned on the promotional page.

To those that bought this promotion, did you get a confirmation of the promotional $10 balance? I didn't  

 

I got an email about the credits being in my account the next day. It was not instant.

 

Say's you'll receive it in 2-days. Also, upon checkout, you'll see that "you've qualified for the $10..."

 

I don't recall seeing that when I placed my order...

 

I did the 'reload' and there was no spot for me to enter in the promo code or apply the coupon. (I did hit clip coupon in the promotion link before reloading) I'm assuming those options only shows up when you actually check out with a Amazon gift card in your shopping basket?

I did just get off Amazon chat and asked them about it, and they said the $10 will show up in my account in 24 hours. I will just check back then.

You may want to contact them right now and ask about it so you have a paper trail to refer to if you don't see the credit in a day or two.

Same. I added the money to my existing account rather than buy a gift card, since that was an option. I'm guessing it'll work out fine, if not in a couple days I'll hassle them about it. It said the promotion was added to my account so I'm expecting it to work fine. Just did it today.

EDIT: Got the credit

 

I clicked the button and loaded 40$ directly onto my amazon account yesterday, and I just got the promo credit this afternoon.
I didn't get any kind of notification that it went through, it simply (and quietly) did.
Note that the 10$ credit expires November 29th, which is kind of BS.

 

I bought a $40 giftcard yesterday and got the $10 credit today, about 24 hour turnaround. They sent a notification email for the credit.

Haven't got mine yet, but was wondering are you able to click on an existing pre-order that hasn't shipped in your order history and have the option to apply the $10 to that pre-order?

 

I dunno, I already used mine on a new order. But I don't think that's possible usually.

 

Thank you all for your responses. I think I'll be fine. My girlfriend reminded me that previous times we've gotten offers like this, the promotional credit just appears without much notice.

Now what to get with my gift card balance? Maybe Topspin and Blitzwing, the final SS figures I'm missing, or perhaps the figures I want from ER W2/3...

 

My local Wal-Mart where I got my Netflix Megatron for $25 has now discounted the voyagers to $9. I wish I had waited by I did get some "generic" Seekers. Oddly enough they still haven't discounted the Earthrise voyagers despite the fact they don't stock them on the current reset. They also have the deluxe Cyberverse Megatron and Shockwave for $5 each. The tags still say $25 and $11 though.

Edit: In a bit of karma or shitty customer service, one of my Hotlinks is a defective one I returned months ago. It has a pin misaligned behind the head. I knew the tape was cut but everything we there and for $9 it was worth the gamble. For what I paid I don't really care anyway. I guess it was destiny.
