Definitely very lazy as far as transformations go, but given size and price point here I can forgive it.

I get the feeling that there's one or two "missing" bots (from a hypothetical official release) that are missing from this set, so a fully combined mode is thus impossible?

 

your #3 & #4 are color variants from what I purchased from sirtoys earlier this year... and now I think I have to chase those (and potential other color variants?) down.

I had stayed off AE for some time now after a baaad taste was left in my mouth from a seller of joytoy figs... (bought two multi packs of mini figs & a big bot, seller shipped one multi pack and said big bot in color I wanted went out of stock... looong story short, after weeks/months of messaging I opened a case in the AE system the day before the expiration; but because the seller used the same tracking for all 3 items, even though only one was shipped, their ‘resolution center’ said it was shipped and received. I only got a fraction of the missing mini-pack reimbursed and nothing from the big bot that was never sent... language barriers suck! Even after sending them picks of the small shipping box sent w/ visible tracking # & ruler measurements illustrating size of small box while citing dimensions from the big bot never sent...smh  )
...but with singles’ day coming up, and that mini-ptsd rant out the way, maybe I’ll revisit the AE site to see what’ll be offered next month.

 

Nice! I was just about to comment how much they seem to look like Energon Command Ravage, they even have the Energon star port on their beast backs - I wonder if a star would fit on there?  

I looked at these after fiddling with my old KO MMC Catilla hoping something might work as a Chainclaw or Carnivac perhaps?

I'll grant you that. In terms of aesthetics, there's more room for subjectivity of course... and that bull and rhino are CHONKY with their little tiny legs! And then the cats feel overly-elongated, and like their shoulders sit in the wrong place.

Beast transformers historically get the animal proportions wrong, usually because they were looking for a too-easy transition from the robot mode, and overusing the "arms become forelegs" schtick. In that sense, I think a lot of G1 figures did a better job capturing animal silhouettes than some of the newer figures (G1 Ravage / Steeljaw, Dinobots, Deluxe Insecticons, even the Monsterbots..). Beast wars figures often got around that with a lot of shell-forming.

I'm an artist myself (though out-of-practice, and never did a lot of animal work), and I know what you mean. Once you know a subject, it can be quite grating to see people do it 'wrong', and seemingly without any research.

Yeah, I figured it was clear we were talking about Predaking. I just specified "both of my Razorclaws" since I don't have a complete set of black Predacons, so I swap the Razorclaws in, and it's the strength of their hip joints that are at issue. But yeah, obviously there's more pressure on those hips in combined mode than just as Razorclaw.

In my sets, it's the back-forth joints that are weaker, and only if I have the legs at full extension, which is a bit of a fan-mode for me, actually, so not official (I attach the skirts lower so his torso looks longer as well). The extra knee joint makes it way more prone to bending forward or back.

Yeah, I think it's the relative monotony of the black plastic, and the rather simplistic use of the silver paint as an accent. It really brings out the cheapness in figures - though I can't say for sure whether the plastic grade is actually any different.

Just placed a new order with Paul at Sir Toys! It's been a while so I thought I'd check in - found out about his $1 junker sale which is on right now so grabbed a couple of bits to mess with along with some KO Combiner Wars pieces too.
Something to look forward too nearer Christmas!  

 

I love the junker idea for customs. My only issue is that they are all in plastic bags reflecting light so I can't tell what I'd be buying on many of them.

 

You probably grabbed a few of the things I was looking at.

I just spent a while going through all the junker items, selecting stuff that I might have a use for... and then discovered I can't add those items to my order-on-hold!

I don't really see the point of that. The only way I'd consider buying this stuff would be if I could just toss it in with stuff I'm already shipping. I wouldn't pay to ship a bunch of junkers on their own.  


So I guess it was just a big waste of my time.  

Yeah, that's a problem too. The photos are so small that it's hard to even identify what the item is supposed to be, let alone the condition/accessories.

Glad I didn't get that far, then. I guess it's all for the best since I have several boxes full of junk parts from KOs anyway and risk the wrath of my wife if I take up any more space in our postage stamp of a house. Aside from a large box coming from Paul, I've got a TFC Thousandkills, a couple of Ultra Dino Force bots, TFC Mammon, the Andras repaint, and a Zeta Pioneer to go with my WJ BB Prime. l may have to start setting off explosions in the backyard to get her attention while I run to the front porch and snatch boxes...

 

Yeah I probably should have figured out a better way to do it   but I didn't want to do a lot of picture taking and coding (I should have made a zoom in feature and X's over sold out items). Ask for larger pics under the post on my Facebook page.

I want to clean out the warehouse and get rid of them fast   Some of them have been here since 2014 lol (Might give them to the recycling dude next time he drops by).

This is definitely a modeler to keep an eye on. I'm hoping he releases some more of his full figures for sale.

 

The format took me a minute to figure out, but it wasn't so bad. Just hard to make out a lot of the items from the pics, though I understand why you wouldn't want to bother photographing it all individually.

I wish it had been stated on the site that they can't be added to an order on-hold, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered spending an hour or so going through them and filling a cart.  

You can just add them into whatever box or shelf where my on-hold stuff is stored.
