It wouldn't have been nice if both the sword and the ion blaster were featured, would they? But what the heck, a nice change is good!

I think ill stick with the original. I Really dont think the sword alone is worth it. I really dont care for that new head. The paint also dosent seem to different. But Megatron is still MINE! Im actually shure that the sword by its self will show up on ebay lots of times.

Head/sword look great but it's hardly changed otherwise. Leader Prime was one of the few movie toys I bought so this is a hard sell for me. We'll see

    Quoted for quoting.

Gonna have to see it in person, and something about it is REALLY gonna hafta jump out at me, so there's a good chance I'm not gonna buy it. (unless I get into some "desperate for a new toy" mode or some such.)

Because designs werent finalized when Hasbro started working on the figures....this is Hasbro's chance to release a more movie accurate version of Prime.

Worth two in the bush? What does that mean?

I will be getting this just for the sword alone. I can paint it orange. As for the head if it's better than the original I will just swap them out since I'm almost finished painting my original.

Then use the leftovers to make a Leader class Final Battle Prime,Nemesis Prime, G1 colored movie Prime.

Wait, is it just me, or are the metal applications only on some parts on his body?

The head actually is quite different its more slender at the bottom and the ears are obviously different. I dont like the new head sculpt. I really like the sword but still not impresed. Like I said before the sword alone will probably be on ebay.

Wait, his grey parts are NOT all painted silver!? What the heck? I understand why the hands aren't, but every other piece of gray plastic on his body should be painted silver if this is a premium figure. I was thinking about picking him up but if his grey isn't metallic silver instead, I'll have to pass. And I really wanted that new head and sword, too...

I'm with you on this point, isn't the whole point of premium figures to have that shiny metallic look like the movie bots. A slightly new head and a blade are just a giant rip-off. If Hasbro felt like we needed these two things so badly then they should've just made an accessory deluxe pack with a new head, blade, and bumblebee's battle mask/head.

Agreed. The metallic paint all over would make it different enough for me to warrant a purchase, but right now it doesn't look unique enough for me. I want the sword and the new head, and metallic paint all over, not just 2 new parts and metallic paint just on the thighs. I hope it is changed.

Hmmm. I was really looking forward to the new head sculpt but now it looks like it was based on a pre-finalized version that while different, STILL doesn't really look like the movie head. There was that shot we saw alot with the skinnier Prime with the gun hand before the movie, where the antennae is kinda curved and the face looked more beak-like...this new head looks like it's based off of that image. The first leader class head actually looks more like the film with a little paint work; Jin Saotome's version looks way better than this.

I was waiting to spend the time painting mine until I saw what this looked like. Now I'll just PASS on this one and paint mine.

I was a bit too afraid to apply silver paint to my Prime seeing as how most silver paint are oil based, and oil based paint can become sticky on cetain surfaces. But I am considering Making my own "Premium". The fact that they have these coming out is disappointing, and is a cheap ploy for loyal fans like us to spend more money. I myself had spent over $300 on the initial release of these movie figures. Hasbro should just do a total resculpt of these figures. Take away silly electronic features, and create room for more accuracy, and sleek design:thumb s2

At least the Animated figures had a lot of heart and soul put into it, despite the cartoon itself being on the verge of sucking really bad!

Get an acrylic version man. Testors has some I believe at walmart, its the automotive or airplane acrylic paint set.

No way, man! You just have to know the correct paint to use. You also need to wash the surfaces too because mold release is applied at the factory to help the plastic not stick to the molds. If you use Testor's Model Master with the correct technique, you can have paint more resilient than some factory jobs. Making a "premium" Prime would be easy given the right knowledge and ability.

As was said earlier, i also can't buy this figure with half of the grey parts painted silver and the rest of it still grey.

Oh well, good for me as I save some money for Classics 2.0!

I was hoping for more silver paint too (based on THIS picture he doesn't seem to have as much). But some of that gray plastic might be unpaintable plastic, so they might not be able to paint it even if they wanted to.
